(This is long, longer than intended; but I felt it was fair to respond to him on this video than put it in a reaction video, feel free to skip if you’d like, or read and see if you agree 🤷🏼‍♀️. ❤ I subbed the other day. I like to listen for a few videos and decide. I watched a couple artists that I personally love that you reacted to, the reactions were great and THOUGHTFUL. Which I appreciate, because only my favorite reactors actually take the time to think about it and also if they don’t see something a certain way, if they take the time to tell me their perspective or maybe a lyric hits and you think “oh….I’ve never looked it that way before…..so I can SEE how they feel like that.” Those are the rectors I love to watch because it’s shifting perspectives to LEARN, it’s our best weapon towards peace, is UNDERSTANDING and RESPECT. Once we have that, we can change the world with it. I actually waited for you to do Whiteboy by Tom to see if you were going to be the reactor that listens and tries to understand OR like some reactors, they hear “triggering” words and they shut off. It’s like they are allergic to other perspectives. I don’t expect a reactor to agree with everything, that’s just stupid. But if you give these artists and us (who request them) the time and attention and are open to seeing someone else’s perspective and experience…..then I’m going to be watching (and I subbed) but I appreciate that. I also appreciate how hard you’re working to grow your channel. I love that your cousin is who he is because he’s one of the best in this game. So you have a great example as to how to do this thing that for some reason we love to watch lol. "The video he put out yesterday or whenever his last song was" Ha, you weren't far off! You posted this on a Sunday - not sure when you recorded - and his last drop was Thursday 😂 "Did he say six pints and a shot?" "On stage he's in his element" Absolutely. Ren was a party boy before he got sick... he says it was social anxiety and the only place he feels free is performing. Which is especially sad for him, since doctors have recently told him he can probably never tour again. His timeline is pretty insane, though, going by his interviews. First stole cigarettes at 10, looking for "the most scenic places to smoke Marijuana" at 11, outdrinking his friend's brother who was buying for them at 14, passing out in crazy places by 19. In one of his songs he references "in the kitchen racking up lines til my nose bled" at 16. He also makes a lot of sly references to party drugs a decent amount, but doesn't address much head on. But he says he stopped drinking at 20, after a friend's death, and gave up most drugs early on in his illness as well. When he first went to Canada for his treatments and Marijuana was legal he says he overindulged a bit but cut that off when it messed with his productivity 😅 At this point, he smokes weed and struggles with quitting cigarettes, as he's been a chain smoker for years and all his friends smoke. Dude was stuck in bed for years and still managed to pack more experiences in and live more life than most people would ever dream. I find his interviews and autobiographical videos fascinating.

Carl Perkins wrote the song, and he had a hit with it before Elvis did. Elvis recorded it but didn't let it be released until after Carl's version had run it's course. Carl said he and his band were playing a club somewhere and he got the inspiration for the song after he heard a guy telling his girlfriend, 'Lay off my suedes, Baby!' as they were coming off the dance floor.

Loved the reaction ❤️. I saw you on your cousin MRLBoyd's channel and subbed. Ren was about 19 yrs old here (he's 34 now, 32 when he filmed Hi Ren) . It was the 1st year that he fell sick with a "mysterious" Illness that left him in pain and trapped for the next 8 years. He had Lyme Disease that went undiagnosed and misdiagnosed for about 6 years but by then the disease progressed to the point where he still struggles and suffers with pain, brain damage and a host of other mental and physical disorders. That's just a small snippet of Ren's backstory. His 1st album released in 2016 was recorded from his bedroom. Many of the songs were written and recorded from the time of this track. (2010-2012). So his timeline will be very different. 😊💗 Ren will record a song and release it years later sometimes.

This is an original and refreshing way to react to Ren and I'm here for it. I think this is going to be the most fun way in the end, because he ties many songs together. I respect your patience lol.
