So I'm newish to polymer clay jewelry and have had a heck of a time with resin pulling back from the sides. I just saw a video that taught me that I can use a super fine grit sandpaper to lightly go over the top of the piece to the sides and it won't pull back. I tried it a couple of nights ago and oh my gosh! It worked!!! You may have already learned that by now since this was two months ago but I thought I'd share just in case. Loving your channel as a new sub. ❤

I always sand my pieces before applying resin, as it gives a tooth for the resin to stick to, hence less pulling away. I use resin on a lot of my pieces, and have used it a lot in my videos. The resin I used in this video was extremely bad at pulling away from the edges, so it does also depend on the type of uv resin you’re using. The easiest way for me to deal with this resin, was to just check it before putting it under the uv lamp, and giving it a slight push back to the edges. Contrary to what I said in this video, after several uses of the Lightwish resin, I’m gonna stick with JDiction. No pulling away, even if slightly more bubbles to deal with. We live and learn!

Whyyyyy are there 26k views but no likes? Folks, if you like a video, then help the poster by liking it. It takes two seconds.

There are likes, but only visible to me. Thank you, though. If you click on like, I will see it, but you won’t

Is “Plaque” a bad outcome? I think it adds depth, no? Love it!

Not necessarily. I think plaquing in faux stones is acceptable. Thank you!

Ooh, she's spicy! This is a gorgeous project! There are so many possibilities! I love these... and I really hope it wasn't me that left the snarky comment! I think we can all be a little grumpy sometimes, and be thoughtless in how we come across. I know that I put people off at times, though I'm never actually sure why... anyway, thanks very much for the tutorial and the ideas!

Thank you! Doubtful it was you, but I don’t remember. The written message can often be misconstrued, but blatant snarky and mean comments are transparent. You’re welcome!

The colors are amazing! Love the little pops of turquoise. I'll have to order those pinch bale earring hooks. And new cutters. LoL They're fabulous! I don't resin the sides of my pieces either but I do add a gloss varnish.

Do you have a video where you explain when you choose to bake on a tile or when you choose to bake on parchment? I absolutely love the way this stone came out. It's so colorful!
@clayboutique7 күн бұрын
No, not a specific video. I don’t bake on parchment. It’s just regular paper. If I know I’m gonna resin /glitter the backs, I’ll bake on tile. If I don’t want shiny spots on the back of my pieces, that I’m not gonna resin/glitter, I’ll bake on paper. Having said that, pieces bake flatter on tile, so I’ll bake on paper, and as soon as they are out of the oven, I’ll place them on tile to ensure they’re flat. Thank you 💜

Finally! I usually drop everything when I see a new video of yours is out, but I couldn’t do that this time and it’s been hard. I sometimes put videos on in the background while I do other things, but never yours. Yours I watch and savor. I finally had time to watch it, and I’m so happy now, it’s ridiculous 😊 I just want to let you know that you bring so much joy and happiness outside of the inspiration and knowledge you depart. Thank you for everything you do, and for just being you 💗 PS. How dare you waste a whole drop of alcohol ink! The world might come to an end because you squirted three drops instead of two! “The Ink Apocalypse” - coming to a theater near you soon. 😜😂
