I love the double Norwegian split toe. So much so that they will be my next shoe from Acme. We’ve been chatting about recreating the shoe but not in Cordovan.
Didn't they immediately apologize and offer to remake? Mistakes happen right? You offered a somewhat weird proposition that you would get to wear them for awhile and then decide. Businesses need to move on from a sale and can't have open ended agreements like that. I don't think your story detracts from Carmina. Certainly not for me. I've bought 3 pairs since this story came out.

@@hoosiercoinreview6428 yeah Carmina makes nice shoes! Glad to hear they’re doing well! As far as the experience, it was the 2nd or 3rd pair, custom ordered, in row within a few months that all had similar issues. They didn’t immediately offer that, and to my recollection I proposed a solution in absence of a proposed solution from them and because they already had to remake that pair of boots 2 times. And I didn’t feel it was appropriate to have them remake it again, if it wasn’t absolutely necessary. But either way, glad they’re doing well!

I would love a light leather color Role Club engineer boot like this.. I got some black Horween Horsehide Wesco Mr. Lou's the other month and now I really really like engineer boots.. love just being able to slip them on.. so convenient.. and its more leather there to love! I actually think your Clinch shape looks more sleek.. but finishing wise.., nothing beats Role Club imo.. and damn, do I love his outsoles.. I also like that he does them a little shorter than most.. thanks..

The most important difference you need to understand is that Shinki Cordovan are a well-finished horse butt . it is not a shell like the Horween. The front side of the shinki has hair follicles, the back side is well-processed pulp.

One thought I would like to add about the value of a proper fit is that the item will function properly. Duh to myself! I totally agree with you about caring for our shoes and jeans. I have to admit/confess that I wash and then dry my jeans in the dryer until they are dry. What!??? The pattern used for the Relaxed Fit Lee Jeans is the perfect fit for me. They seem to get a little stretched out some after a wear or two, and the drying in the dryer seems to bring them back to the fit I prefer. They last for years and are not expensive. Just my 4 cents.

I completely dig oxford boots. And you don't have to get that spendy. Allen Edmonds "Hamiltons" are essentially a split-welted version of Strands, and it's a fantastic boot that dresses up or down and can be had very reasonably during any of their major sales. I certainly don't mind a derby boot, but there's just something about an oxford that takes it up a notch. BTW, I'd say size up one width in Allen Edmonds oxford boots, i.e., order an E instead of a D if that's where you measure on a Brannock device. That particular last just runs narrow, and the E provides what I would normally expect in a D in the forefoot. Glad to see another fan of oxford boots. And people notice them.

What products do you recommend for taking care of peccary leather?
@christianchernock812Ай бұрын
My experience with TLB was terrible. Received Balmoral Brogue with severe heal block out of balance on one of the shoes. It seesawed about 1/2 inch on front edge of heel block. Took several weeks to get customer service responses. After two months of emailing them I finally received shipping label. Sent shoes back and all they did was replace heel stack on both shoes without fixing the issue. Essentially they sent me back the shoe with exact same problem. I’ve reached out three times by email to make them aware of what happened and they stopped responding all together. What these product review channels never address is the product sent to a ‘reviewer’ goes through a completely different scrutiny than what the general public product gets. That is true with the customer service piece as well.

Shoes really! Last year i got rid of 10 pairs! I regret some of them but just not enough time to wear them all! Strictly one pair a year now same with a quality coat! Watches don’t really do it for me in the way shoes do. A video of a pair of hands running up and down a pair of premium handmade shoes sends me into a shoegasm. Weird i know but if i went to a jewellers and the guy said I’ve got three steel sports Rollies for you to try on it just wouldn’t do it for me any more than my Timex easyreader! Different strokes for different folks i guess😂

Been wearing western (cowboy/biker) boots for 30 years, and I love leather soles - BUT... Living in Ireland, I appreciate the value that rubber outer soles add to a pair of footwear!! Role Club's work appears to be phenominal! (the details around the rubber sole remind me of the red WW2 paratrooper boots). Inconsistencies in the finish are, to me, a sign of hand-finished craftsmanship; but that's just my opinion... :) Nice review... Thanks.

Thanks for making content. Are the toe taps necessary if I am getting vibram explosions? I feel like the vibram will protect the tips enough, but I am not sure.
@ShellvedgeАй бұрын
It can help, but the leather welt will still deteriorate because the rubber will flex and still pass on the wear through to the toe. It’s better than nothing, but including the toe plate will for sure be more protective and more resilient.
