I’m confused. I thought the “Pure Patina Shoe and Leather Care Bundle” from Pure Polish was promoted in the past as the epitome of shell cordovan care. Their Leather Cleaner and Conditioner (4 ounce) especially works terrific for shell cordovan, so why the new development and promotion of a product specifically for shell cordovan? Is the this new product the recommended replacement for shell cordovan care? 11:48

I’d say whether or not the shell cordovan cream exists, those products still are safe and work very well for shell cordovan, even though that’s not what they’re specifically formulated for. The shell cordovan cream is formulated specifically for shell, obviously, but it doesn’t make other products obsolete. I’d definitely defer to Andy’s description from the video, which is exactly why I asked the question. I’m just an avid pure polish products user and a partner/contributor to the development of the shell cordovan cream. So I’ll tag Andy to lend his expertise here for your clarification.

@@Shellvedge Thanks for the response. I’ve used the Pure Polish Patina package for restoring vintage shell cordovan shoes that have been very dirty and dehydrated. The results have been amazing. I may think of the new shell cordovan cream by Pure Polish as something I would use to care for a brand new pair of shell cordovan shoes or to maintain a vintage pair that has been restored using the Patina Package.

@@thomaspetro9228 yeah makes sense! Definitely an advocate for using what you have. I will say this is the best I’ve ever use on shell, but Andy will chime in when he gets some time soon to add the expert input!

Hi Thomas. I appreciate the question as you clearly have experience with our line. As was discussed in the podcast, this is the first product we've developed that is shell-specific. While our "Pure Patina Bundle" - which is a collection of our most popular three neutral products (Cleaner & Conditioner, Neutral Cream Polish, and High Shine Wax) is still great for both shell and calf, it isn't the all-in-one maintenance cream that the Shell Cordovan Cream is intended to be. Rather, like you mentioned in your comment below, the full bundle is great at bringing things back "from the dead." However, once "alive," I'd recommend continuing with the Shell Cordovan Cream for routine care, Cleaner & Conditioner to keep it clean, and High Shine for extra shine. Hopefully that's helpful.
