Thanks for the video. I have had this gun since 2013. Some advice I will give you is to switch out that plastic guide rod for a metal one. Definitely helps with performance! 🫡

I have a 6 inch security six, but it's not the police model and it came with Pachmayr grips. It's one of my favorite revolvers to shoot

-For all around shooting CCI Mini-Mags are unbeatable. Burns clean, consistent, very few misfires, works great for semi-autos. -Winchester Super-X should be illegal, it’s so bad for the money. -If you shoot a lot of .22 and want to save money on bulk ammo, Federal Value Packs are good. -For shooting groups use what your rifle “likes.”

Haven't bought any Super X lately. It was my first favorite ammo back 40 years ago, but the last I shot was terrible. I stay away from the Red Rattlers!

Well I got it and as soon as I got at home cleaned it and started running and testing my original taurus magazine for function, half of the time the slide would not lock open on an empty magazine. I observed it from the top and the mag for seemed for some reason tilt to the right a little bit causing the follower to not engage the slide stop. The pistol is now In the hands of fedex , on its way back to taurus for warraranty repair or replacement.

The best ammo is always the most accurate ammo. See what's most accurate in your own guns, then decide. If the terminal effects are more important to you, then good luck. Nothing is gained when the bullets don't go where you need them to be. I use 1 MOA as a benchmark for sporting rifles. That's 1" groups @ 100 yards for those who don't what MOA is.

I picked one up from an officer in Great Falls who needed cash for a model 66 he'd ordered. The service grips on the Ruger bit the web of both of my hands felt like I was shooting my model 57 with full house 210 gr hunting loads. I wanted to like the Ruger, but that particular grip and I just didnt get along. Wish I had the luxury back then of being able to squirel it away until things changed, but, being an A1C with two kids meant a tight budget, so... Take er easy, Al!

I'm glad you're taking about 22lr. over a year and ahalf ago i bought a kel-tec p17 in 22lr. so i started a reliability test and completed last week.over that time i shot 605 rounds of Remington in bucket, Winchester, cci, federal, agulia. during breaking in i had 7 rounds of federal auto match that fired but didn't push bolt back far enough to pickup new round . the agulia was the nastest ,smokest ammo i ever shot. it smoked so bad i had to wait between shots to see the target. i shot 250 of agulia. so 598rounds mixed brands worked flawlessly and accurately. 3 magazines with it worked flawlessly. good trigger. this one is a keeper. i haven't cleaned the pistol yet and think i might run 200 more rounds to see if it gets sluggish, slower cycling. then a well earned cleaning. my all around ammo for hunting and self defense is cci mimi mag hp . Papa wishing you well 😊

Nice gun, But why do people always seem to fire double action revolvers in single action?… Get a single action if that’s what you like.

Hey Al Enjoyed watching the video on that beautiful revolver. In my opinion the Ruger security/speed six series were the best revolvers Ruger ever made. They had to be great guns because the competition from S&W and Colt was fierce! Durable, reliable and very well made. Love the tool free disassembly too.

That is one pretty pistol. I have several Ruger revolvers, but only one DA. It is a GP100 in 22LR. I was looking for a S&W model 617 with a 6” barrel when my favorite enabler pulled the Ruger out of his display case. And I’ll be darned if it didn’t follow me home. He also had a factory nikeled plated S&W model 15 with a 4” barrel. Gave him a$100 to hold it until next month. Love those older Smiths I have 7 or 8 of them ranging from a 2” J frame 32 S&W long to a 10” model 29. They are like potato chips I can’t be happy with just 1. Keep the great videos coming.

Had one in .357 and let a guy talk me out of it, I sure do regret selling it , I loaded 3 CCI shot shells and 3 hollow points when I was carrying it , they are built like a tank, great pistol, cost you a arm and a leg to get one if you can find one now ..

I have a Ruger Mark 2 Government model target pistol that has @30,000 rounds run thru it. The Wildcat ammo has really dirty powder and gums up the action quickly. Anything CCI does great, and the gun tolerates the Golden bullets.

I heard that my friend. They are some good, 22 caliber ammo out on the market today but at $18-$20 a box. To get a real good clean, persistent, ammunition I guess that’s why I’m stuck with the CCi they are decently clean. And pretty persistent. I Thank you for watching my friend.
