I have 5 red eye puffers, 4 females and 1 male. Surprisingly docile so far. Though I don’t have many fish in the tank other than them.

FYI, you needed to retighten the white piece. Had you done that, the lower tube would not move.

If you live near the ocean, you can absolutely use beach sand in your saltwater aquarium. Just don’t use the sand where the tide comes in and out daily. Use the sand that is 100% always submerged in ocean water.

Will they be able to put a large fish like this back in the ocean without killing it?

Worked at the Petland discounts on the upper west side from 08-2010. It was such an amazing place to work and to me was the best pet shop/ supply store ever with an amazing selection of fish. It’s all about quick money in this world, they could’ve continued the business it’s a shame what a loss to the tristate area.

No filter no Heater ? Not someone you should be taking advice from. Also the way you breed betta fish is by introducing them slowly. Not just by putting them in same tank and keeping them there

I used beach sand from Miami. I actually went into the water and collected it. My tank has been running for over a year wirh no problems. If you live by an ugly and polluted beach, may want to reconsider.

Salt is widely recommended because traditional planted tanks kills the industry. Plants kill the aquarium purification business because they balance the water without having to resort to buying fancy products to maintain it. Salt kills plants so that the industry can live. Using plants for balancing water has been known since the hobby was around. There were no fancy products back then. All that was required was a glass box, some light, maybe. a heater and lots of plants. Not even a filter! (Note: some plants and animals like brackish water so if you like them, get salt).

I have a roughly 5 or 7 inch comet goldfish with dropsy in a 10k+ gallon pond. None of the other 40 or so fish in there have any problems but this one has dropsy. It has bloated slowly over several months, i originally thought it was eggs until the scales started to pinecone. I do not believe the problem is anything other than bad genetics because it's a comet based on none of the other fish being affected for several months. But I want to relieve the bloating with salt. Once I remove him from the pond and put him in a quarantine tank what kind and how much salt should I use to suck the water out that is swelling him?

Dude, 6:30 of rambling... Want to grow your channel and get more repeat views.. get to the point.. focus on the point.. I learned all I was going to from this video in the 30 seconds you actually talked about what the title of the video is about.. You sound like one hell of a nice guy... But if you are doing a subject video (like this) STICK TO THE SUBJECT... This whole video should've been talking about why and why not.. not good burger and "you people" jokes.... This is just some tough love man and the way to find success! (I'm still using beach sand by the way though 🤣)
