Hey Randy, this is Randy from NC. Just watched your 89/90 Bassmaster win at Buggs Island. Very cool watching you pin the fish up against cover, and going up there and dig them out by hand. You and I are the same age, and I've been following your career for a long time. Thanks for all your doing for us old timers. You have always and will always have my support! Thanks.

Just caught my pb today on a 75 choppo, ghost gill pattern. I know this sounds like a repeat because I left the exact same comment about a month ago but I broke my last record today with the exact same lure! The Berkeley choppo is absolutely deadly y'all!

Thanks Randy! You and I are very close in age, and I’ve been throwing spinnerbaits since I was probably eleven years old and had to make one of my own to try it. I remember finding a diaper pin, cutting off the end, sliding a slip sinker onto the wire, using the skirt from a Hula Popper, and bending the ends into loops to attach a blade on a crappy barrel swivel and a 3/0 worm hook to make the first spinnerbait I ever threw. It got hit harder than anything I’d ever seen the first time I threw it in my local pond. I’ve been throwing them ever since, and it remains one of my favorite ways to fish. I have a question, though, and you’re the person who would know the answer. Rick Clunn came out a few years ago and said there are no good spinnerbait fishermen anymore. He clearly included KVD in his assessment of modern anglers, which was pretty shocking to me, but then he started talking about it almost as if willow-bladed spinnerbaits were not really the same thing, talking about guys when he was still quite new on tour who fished with single Colorado blades in deep water, and just became more and more vague about what these guys did that made them “great” spinnerbait fishermen. Help a fellow 60+ year old fisherman named Randy out, please, and tell me what Clunn was talking about, if you have any idea. Thanks.
