Question: my top molar has a little bit like a dome shape with a small filling close to the middle. Should the chewing surface of the crown for my bottom molar have its diameter as big as the top molar's diameter, not smaller? I am trying on the crown for the bottom molar and its upper portion is inside the margin of this upper molar, leaving the edge of the top molar exposed when I bite down. The crown shiips and glide when I bite down, which needs to be fixed but I think the crown needs to be made wider all around and lower at the edge so that my bite is stable and the force not just from the inside out, which in the long run will crack my upper molar. Please adivise if my understanding is correct. Thanks. By the way, these are my last molars all the way in the back and I use these two big time, 90% plus of the time because the ones on the other side don't fit well. The old crown fitted so well but I have a new dentist to replace the old crown for the bottom molar. My top molar is still the same, no change. I wish I had a picture of my old crown or this new dentist took an impression of my old crown. I hate it when dentist depends on the lab, which most of the time turn out fixing is needed. By the way, this lab is not high tech.

I mean no disrespect anybody that gets these but I have an issue. I've seen some people with beautiful teeth I wish my teeth have been that good and healthy and strong but I had a disease passed down through my family where I lost all of mine by 22. Which is okay I'd rather than be going to be in that kind of pain but. Then I see nowadays that everybody wants the same exact mouth I don't understand it. I'm 63 and I'll admit something simple for my age I love Selena Gomez. Some idiot talked her into getting veneers and she didn't even need them. She had beautiful teeth and then I got you know what Drew my attention is I'm one of these people that I will find the oddball thing. Get dentures. They look more like real teeth those veneers do not look real. They're all the exact same square cut they all the teeth are exact same size real teeth aren't like that real teeth are different shapes different sizes it looks stupid. And then I got to notice after I noticed her I happen to notice George Clooney everybody has these things for what reason jeez

Had a hygienist who sang out loud and was brutal on my teeth. Asked receptionist to not put me with her again. She wore a face and head mask. Took 1/2 of teeth cleaning to poke my gums. I asked for her to using numbing agent. She got mad and tore my gum line, so now I'm forced to have gum repair at $4,800!

A dental hygienist is a technician degree that most of the “technical” stuff is readily available online. You guys don’t have a magic box of knowledge. Even that your training isn’t at a professional level it’s designed as a support role. I can be a dental hygienist in 13 months in some schools also these at home scale machines are not on pair with what a Cavitron can do.
@TeethTalk12 сағат бұрын
I’d love to clarify a few things about the dental hygiene profession and training. Dental hygiene programs, whether they’re associate (2 years + 2 years of prerequisite courses) or bachelor’s (4 years) degree tracks, are highly intensive and include rigorous training in anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and clinical techniques. We’re not just learning to clean teeth; we’re trained to assess oral health, recognize signs of systemic diseases, and provide tailored care plans. The 13-month programs you mentioned are generally accelerated options for those already holding other degrees, but the comprehensive knowledge and clinical requirements remain the same. As for tools like at-home scalers, they aren't designed to replace professional equipment like the Cavitron, nor do they replicate the precision and technique of trained professionals. Using them without proper training could lead to damage to your teeth or gums. That's why I made this video. I've seen too many people hurt themselves and cause irreversible damage. I'm just trying to help.

I dumped a dentist once because they were tossing blood soaked gauze and disposable syringes into a trash can and there was no hazardous waste container in any room. I know it costs to have those things emptied, but this reminded me of a dumpster diver who found bloody surgical supplies in a dumpster behind an outpatient surgical center. He immediately called the police and they called the health department, who walked in and shut it down right that minute. What are they doing with all those contaminated items? Nope!

Hi, I want to become a dental hygeinist, and your videos are so inspiring. Do you think I can still be a dental hygeinist taking Psychology, English, A levels and BTEC applied science? because i know they require biology a level to be a dental hygeinist, and I wasnt able to take it. 😢
@dummkompf14 сағат бұрын
pretty sure you can be a high school dropout and then spend a few months in some dental school to be a hygienist
@TeethTalk12 сағат бұрын
I’m so glad you find my videos inspiring-thank you for sharing that! 😊 The exact requirements to become a dental hygienist can vary depending on where you’re located. In some places, having a background in biology is preferred because it helps with understanding anatomy, physiology, and other science-based topics taught in dental hygiene programs. However, it's more about the actual courses you take versus your degree when you're applying to dental hygiene schools. I recommend (1) Contacting Programs Directly: Reach out to the schools or colleges offering dental hygiene programs to confirm their entry requirements. Also, the admissions page on dental hygiene program websites are very informative by listing the required courses needed to apply. Once you get into the dental hygiene program -- whether it's an associate (2 years + 2 years of prerequisite courses) or bachelor’s (4 years) degree track, it will be so worth it!! Here's my free RDH video checklist that goes over more about admission requirements -- hope this helps: bit.ly/rdh-video-checklist
@TeethTalk12 сағат бұрын
regarding the high school dropout comment -- nope, you need a HS diploma and at least 2 years of college prerequisites before applying to the 2-year dental hygiene program. or you can do a bachelor's degree right after HS, too. either route works. hope this helps!

It can be funny-unless it’s not! Sometimes, it’s difficult to tell if someone is joking or being serious. If you ever feel uncomfortable with a patient, it's important to address the situation. Speak with your boss or office manager to understand the protocol for handling such incidents. Depending on the severity of the situation, you may need to: - Ask the patient to stop their behavior. - Reappoint the patient for a later visit. - Dismiss the patient from your care. Remember, it is not acceptable for a patient to speak to you inappropriately. You should never feel uncomfortable being in the room with anyone.
