It amazes me to hear guitarists talking about "guitar being linear & doing one thing at a time". We classical guitarists are used to that in our world. That said, I'd like to explore jazz guutar myself.

It doesn't matter how much fancy gear you have, It's the same old story, you either have it or you don't, and it's all in the hands. Jack is a national treasure.

I’ve been watching him for years, I think the secret to his sound is he lets the string vibrate more than anyone else I’ve seen. Such a light touch and I think lighter strings than a lot of people use

Fantastic video, really well put together. The combination of chord diagrams and demos really helps. Not too slow to make you lose interest, though will need to rewatch a few times to get it all. Really couldn't be better, thanks for this.😊😊😊😊

Can you sing? I been playing finger style or finger picking for a long time. I learned out of necessity. I can’t sing a note. I always envied singers. At least when I started learning finger style people would know what I was playing.

8:36 tasty jazz import. 32:27 solid advice from a pro. “You need to have a home base… where you call fall back on … at those high tempos … so you don fall on your face.” 34:29 - knowing all the notes around that cord, and only using two or three notes from the cord. 38:20 - the hillbilly approach to jazz we’re getting different sounds N G7 chord is the basis, but his thinking is: you can play out of the five minor, the flat, seven as a major seven, 38:34 - F triad to B flat major seven to F major 7 to G and G sus 4. Also f with a g on the bass. He’s thinking a minor 5 chord for the five chord. He has said this is many videos he’s made. 41:20 - he says this is what he’s thinking when he’s playing the g7 chord 44:30 - if you’re in a minor key, go up a minor third and play anything from that key.
