DANG! What does he mean by "stacking"? Do they both play independently at the same time: Parallel operation. Or does one feed into the other: Serial? This difference creates different tones. When he shows how it sounds with both turned on … and he also changes how he picks it (2:30) … then yup, it sounds very different. But I agree, using a overdrive pedal before a distortion pedal (with both turned down a bit) can create some good, full, warm tones. Try it! Also, try putting an overdrive or distortion pedal in your amp's Effects Loop!

Distortion is Distortion. An OVERDRIVE is An OVERDRIVE. Not the Same Thing. Using those terms interchangeably the way you did causes confusion in New Players. Try to make the tones not all sound so Similar if you want to show the Variety on Sounds achievable with the product your Selling .

Not agree. (Scuse my english, i'm french) but overdrive is an electronic behavior and the distorsion is the result of it. In fact we admet that a big overdrive is a distorsion but it's a convention and we can see the same confusion with crunch !.... There is no precise border, with a clear definition. Only the fuzz effect can be considered apart because it also acts on significant distortion of tone in addition of a very big overdrive.
