Hello Mark, I enjoyed your video of Guasopa station . My father was there for 11 months in the years from June 1943-June, 1944. I have many photos of the people and villages that the US Navy Seabee Construction Battalion photographer took there. I would be happy to send you copies of those photos if you wish. Im sure there are grandchildren and possibly the children of those villagers still on Guasopa.

Beautiful place, beautiful people. Listened to this beautiful, well-harmonised songs and reminisced upon beautiful memories of my late Suau nakimi/tambu Soloi Badapipi Joseph, who married my late sister Varoi G Joseph of Hanuabada village in 1984. It was our late humble nakimi who introduced us to the beautiful tunes of Milne Bay stringbands like the Lausuala Band and Ex-Doeos. The late Soloi B Joseph was only weeks into his new appointment as the country's Valuer General with the Dept of Lands and Physical Planning at the time when he died in September of 1999. His wife the late Varoi whom he married in a church wedding ceremony at Hanuabada in 1984 died in 2020, 21 years following his death. May they both find rest with their maker.. 😥💔🙏❤️

You essentially made a rocket stove out of wood shavings ( not sawdust) using a piece of pipe as the mold. Like all sawdust and wood shavings their hard to get burning, the rocket stove concept adds heat to get it burning great idea ! . I dont think this would work with fine sawdust but you can prove me wrong. My neighbors would call the fire department if that much smoke was coming from my yard.
