I recently got the Series 3 27" roll cab (love it) and I HATE those latches. I always feel like I'm opening the drawers twice because I forget the latches are there and have the grab the latch each time. Searched YT for a vid on someone mod'ing this, and here we are. Thank you!

Think for the same price you can get the icons from harbor freight. I found gear wrenches for like 90, I'm going to scoop them up

I love the setup! I bought the 56in toolbox and am waiting for it to come in. While I was debating whether or not to get the 72in over the 56in, I realized that if I bought the 27in with the 56in and bolted them together, the toolbox would be 83in overall and 400 dollars cheaper than the 72in!

For the flex head ratchets you can actually really easily remove the locking mechanism, for whoever doesnt want it

My go to 3/8 for the last 15 years has been a Snap on swivel head, bought one cheap at a pawn shop for like $45 and when it had issues with the handle slipping off my driver gave me a new one, I have had it since. This year I have picked up a few snappy flex heads to try out too..... finally

I got my 4375 for $329.99 in the year 2020. In the last 4 years, it has seen us through 3 blackouts. Still starts with one pull after 4 years.

That’s an interesting video idea ! I personally don’t really have a preference, both prices are amazing , warranty’s are great, and I beat on both brands pretty good. I honestly would pick Tekton if I only could choose one. But only for a few very small reasons.

How would you compare that to your snap on i hsve the same box and love it but was going to get the hobo freight box but they pisssed me off by not warranty a broke tool so i got the snap on box the next week but they look very similar

I wouldn’t switch over fully in my opinion. The drawers are not as nice as my snap on. I will have a review coming out in the next few days highlighting delivery time, quality of each box… bc somehow even tho the 42s are the same the quality is different, and everything else I can think of !!

@E82djc interesting I love my snap on box and really it should be the only box I will need if I can just stop buying tools cause I like them lol and hearing that makes me not feel as guilty for going with the snap on box now and I will keep watching your channel when I get time I like looking at how ppl set their box up so I can try to set mine up better you got a new subscriber with me I would say go check out my box tour but it's my old box and have not done one on my snap on box yet

The biggest flaw have found so far in my series 3 boxes is they only latch on the right side. So If you pull on it on the left side it attempts to come out at an angle and puts excess strain on the guides.

I have a 72 and 56 bolted together. Not sure if you are aware but the instructions state to remove the wheels from the adjacent bench that do not rotate.

@7 minutes you mention that they are not meant to hold a ton of weight, I have a 72" and my entire top draw is full of impact and hand drive sockets, weighing at least 3-400+ lbs, and it has no issues whatsoever. Still slides like there is nothing in the (you can feel it in the momentum though).

Good to hear! Maybe these smaller boxes have less bracing, when I had my top drawer weighed down… it felt very wobbly / I was scared it would break on me. I took some of the stuff out and put it on my pegboard

@@E82djc The 56" and 72" top draw has double rails, it may be the difference, though I have a good amount of weight in some of the other drawers also. BTW, you mentioned that you bolted the two HF cabinets together. I'm hoping to do the same when I get my next one. I bought the 72" w/Hutch, and two 22" side cabinets, and looking to add another 42" with an upper cabinet to accommodate all my tools. I was going to put the second box connected to the 22" cabinet, but would rather have all the drawers in the center, I'm not sure if the cabnite sides lined up because of the different wheel sizes, though may just be the 72" that has the really big HD wheels...

I have the 4375 and yes it is noisy but I don’t really know of any generators that are that quite. I don’t really care and the 4375 has more options than the 3500. Not worth the extra $500 to me . But it’s your choice and I can appreciate that.

On my toolbox I ordered a butcher block top from Lowes and when I got it home I used a router to cut grooves for the box edges

4:53 *Self Centering pilot hole drill bits. Great for anything that you need precise mounting holes for, such as hinges, drawer glides, mounting brackets, etc.

@@E82djc I remember your Facebook post, iirc you went to a Snap On setup, ironically I went from an 84” Snap On Epiq with Hutch and sold it, bought the 73” Icon with hutch and side locker and got this full bank cart. I will NEVER go back or likely buy another toolbox! Love these things and work out of them every day!

I was gonna get the Icon box but sheeeet at $7k outfitted the way I wanted it I had to go with the 56" US General. Not quite the quality but I'm not a professional tech, just a regular Joe DIY. No need for a pro tech quality box.

Do you have the packaging? Taiwan vs mainland China GW products? Or perhaps just an update to differentiate them from the cheaper 72T sets? The product currently supplied in Australia is the "flank drive" style open end, with the metric sizes coloured in (Amazon spec in your vid). The 90T sets are 20-30% more expensive than the 72T sets Is there any difference in feel/quality between the two in your opinion?

Good comparison but you failed to mention the main reason that I went with the 4375. It has 240 volt capability and one thing I need my generator to do is run my 240 volt well pump. That being said, the 3500 is great and will work for many people.
