what solutions is special copper solutions actually?

You started 1 grit too high. start with 120 grit on flap wheel. Or clamp the piece and hit it with 100 grit sanding disc. It's also useful to have a 20x hand loop, magnifying glass. You can see if you've still got surface imperfections from the original milling process. If you start at the correct grit level you'll save A LOT of time and get a true mirror polish.

I will probably try barrel plating sooner or later. I'm thinking that I could modify a barrel for a rock tumbler and have the plating solution closed inside. I could glue the anode on the bottom and just pierce a small hole on the top for the wire cathode. I already own a tumbler so it would not cost much to try it out. I just have to manage that the wires needs to turn while it's rotating. What do you think ?
