I never thought of grieving as a restful activity, I think because it feels like an active thing. But it makes sense here, like a way to create space rather than holding on to unfelt feelings.

I sometimes forget about it too, but recently remembered to give myself some time to grieve, and experienced so much more energy and presence after. It's counter intuitive because painful, but it does really make a difference 🧡

Super insightful vid! I work full time for a company (as a contractor) and I'm an independent musician (I am the whole team lol). As of late I've really noticed how skills I accrued in one arena have helped in the other, and vis versa. I especially resonate with what you said about choice in the context of risk. You mentioned elaborating more on bringing an entrepreneurial mindset to a traditional job; I'd love to hear more about that, and maybe how to apply skills, restrictions, etc. that are in a traditional job to one's own business. Great episode, thanks Aurora!

Thank you for the question/suggestion, Richard, I will record an episode just about that! In the meantime, let me share a little about bringing an entrepreneurial mindset to a traditional job. Often we don't realize how we act disempowered in a job in situations where we would be empowered if self employed. For example, with a client we might share more freely our ideas or ask for what we need, or even set boundaries, but at work we don't speak up, or we reflexively assume we have no choice. The difference usually is that (often not even consciously) we see clients as equals, but not bosses. But in many situations a boss might appreciate the same mindsets that make you a successful entrepreneur: caring about results, taking full responsibility, genuinely sharing limits and ideas, etc. The key is to be aware of our mindset - and be with "what is" rather than getting caught up in unhelpful thinking. And here's a little secret: generally speaking, the best work environments appreciate an more entrepreneurial mindset :)

Wow, that's spot on! I definitely find myself behaving more passively with a "boss". Perhaps it's a difference in investment; I want to explore how I connect investment and empowerment in my mind, because you're right in that employers appreciate the mindsets you listed. Thanks for the response and looking forward to that episode 😊
