Hello Please Help?. How to fix a warped bamboo steamer? The inside part of one of the levels (i have 2 levels plus the lid) with the beautiful pieces with the vents. It was flat. Now looks like a valley, or a big bump inside. Is it too late? I tried to soak it and reshape it but it did not work. as soaking makes the bamboo swell up. I then tried to dry it, so i could place them side by side. This too was impossible. Did I ruin it? i can not use it as the bumpy part reduces the hight inside, thus making the food touch and stick to the lid. Thank you in advance. ❤🙏🥰

What brand/s of rice do you recommend?
@SidOhzen7 күн бұрын
I'm in Cape Town, South Africa. I don't know what brand can get where you are. You can look for short grain rice

I recommend to take it a step further, I put the whole thing in 85 degrees celsius water for 10min, dry of in the oven at 100 degrees Celsius for 10min. Repeat min 3 times and change the water every time. After 3 times the odor is almost gone and the water is clear and not yellow, i did 4 turns just to be safe. Don't eat chemicals guys! I know this process annoying, but it's totally worth it.

Thx for the info in this video, I would recommend to change the water multiple times for the first step. I did it 3 times and dryed it in the oven between to gez rid of the chemicals.

Thank you for this video. Can I ask what brand table top burner you have and where you bought it?

I bought it in Cape Town. You don't need a specific brand to do the work!

Hello can i replace the rice vinegar with something else?
@plyricАй бұрын
I just bought a bamboo steamer for my first time ever. The chemicals were thick yellow and stinky in my wok as I washed the baskets off. I used extra virgin olive oil and my baskets are drying now for the next 24 hours. I'll use them tomorrow to make some dumplings. Thank you so much for the very clear instructions! I'll make sure to re-oil the baskets after every use. I appreciate your advice!!! 👍😊

Don't use olive oil, it can get rancid pretty quick. Best is natural linseed oil.

Excellent! I have a lot of respect for people like you, someone who clearly explains the process, giving exact measurements and gives the reasons behind ‘why’ you use a particular ingredient or technique. Perfect. I will make some of the dough with my little one, so much better than having to go out and buy it 👌🏻 x

What’s the actual recipe?
@henrylee85102 ай бұрын
2 cups of rice will make about 6 rolls of sushi. Divide the cups by 4 to get amount of vinegar and add about 2 tablespoons of sugar. You can adjust sugar to taste. So 2 cups rice, half cup vinegar, 2 tbsp of sugar, pinch or two of salt.
