LOVE your dispensers. I’ve been making these as well for about a year. They sell slowly at about the same price as you have yours on Etsy in the little historic town I show them in (see previous comment). I’m not allowed to sell them at the Art Center because resin work isn’t considered an “art” level medium. I disagree somewhat with that assessment but must follow their rules. I’m a glass artist and use my failed glass pieces to make glass chunks to put in my resin pieces to sell across the tracks (well river) in the town. New subscriber and really enjoying your takes on items I’d almost given up on making because I was tired of what I was doing. (Got great inspiration when I saw your shaker skulls.) Hope your channel keeps growing!!!

What you were saying about items selling at different price points in different areas is so true, even when not far apart. I sell in two galleries about 1/2 MILE apart. One is in a small historic district town where most people are walking the shops while they wait for their table at a the local restaurants. So mostly spur of the moment purchases. Small items for the most part but also lots of foot traffic. The other is a half mile up the hill at one of those art colony/ working studio type places. Very little foot traffic but fine and juried art level work. Still lots of “tourists” but known for being ONLY ART and created by artists on premises. There is a considerably higher commission at the Art Center and I have to add that on to the prices of the pieces sold there. I was originally worried I would not be able to cover that commission by raising my prices so high because down in the town there is a definite ceiling for what items sell at. BUT I am able to sell at the prices needed in the Art Center because people know they are shopping for art intentionally versus spur of moment impulse purchases. I do differentiate the items I sell in the two places a bit by selling my premium pieces at the Art Center and my smaller versions of similar items in the town. The moral of all this is that even when two venues are close together, price points can vary widely and are determined by the demographics of the shopper.

Sorry I didn’t see this sooner! I have never put spinners on my dominoes so unfortunately I can’t help you there. My family plays the standard domino game which doesn’t use them. The only suggestion I have is to search on here for other resin artists that may make them with spinners.

Hi I live in the UK and I am trying to build up a small business and I want to focus on unique pieces such as small themed tables and lamps, I am working on a similar piece to the kol carp piece you are doing. Can I ask do you also sell your work? If you do how much would you charge for this table? Where do you start getting your work noticed please?
@Redlotusresin
@Redlotusresin 2 ай бұрын
@@paulabolger7741 I do sell my work. It’s taken time to get my name out there. I have done vendor shows, farmers markets, and I sell on line. It does take time to build up a reputation for your business so you have to be patient. The way I price my items is I figure out the total cost including resin, items used in the resin and hardware (in this case the table legs), and add a cost for my time to make it. Then I usually double that and that’s what I charge. You can look at other sellers in your area to see what they charge also because every area has different price ranges. Hope that helps!

If you want it to have a cleaner look, cut off the stem with some type of saw, and you will have more area to glue to or attach the UV dot to. I like your idea with the UV resin 👍 I also sand the bulb a bit. It came out sharp.
