how can i find the signal wires?
@ravifixall
@ravifixall 23 сағат бұрын
Connect your test light in to battery positive and provide a voltage through the test light in to the oxygen sensor each wire of 4 wires while look at the O2 sensor data pid in the scan tool. When your test light find the Signal wire, O2 sensor signal will rise up, for better view, put it in to the graph mode. Hope you make sense.

I would be very hesitant to condemn the throttle body if the history you were given is accurate (and I know that's a big "if" because we don't always get the full and accurate story from customers). But if I'm understanding correctly, the supposed history is that it started having this same problem/code 6 months ago, they replaced the ECM, that didn't fix it, then they replaced the (original/OEM?) throttle body with an aftermarket throttle body, and that fixed it for 6 months, but now it's having the same problem/code again. Is that accurate? Given the fairly odd nature of the problem (random battery voltage spikes on one of the TPS outputs) it seems very, very unlikely that the original throttle body would start doing this and after replacement ANOTHER aftermarket throttle body would start doing the exact same thing 6 months later without an external cause. I'm not saying the throttle body isn't bad because it probably is - I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised if it comes back in another 6 months after putting the new one on because the true cause of failure lies elsewhere. But again, this is all assuming that the original throttle body was doing the exact same thing and it was OEM, and neither of those may be confirmable at this point.

Thank you for your input. Actually this was a long diagnosis and customer bought me that old ECU and the throttle body, I did lot of tests which wasn’t filmed, because people don’t like to watch longer videos, therefore I made a summarized video here. I set the old throttle body to this ecu gave different code for throttle actuation control side which that they are also got earlier and replaced new throttle body, but this new throttle throws different code for TPS related problem as you show in this video. I just tried to diagnose and prove the fault with other test, with my whole analysis, This throttle body is defected,
@nowayjose596
@nowayjose596 3 күн бұрын
@@ravifixall Ah ok, so the old/original throttle body had a different problem/code? Just his bad luck then that the new one also started having a (different) problem but as you stated in the video, that can happen with cheaper aftermarket parts. I appreciate following along with your diagnostic process.

Ravi, probably you are overlooking one aspect during fuel trim Analysis to identify a vacuum leak and that is:- How a PCV valve is allowing air to be entered in intake system while engine is idling? This PCV valve is in fact stuck at open or partially open position. You may like to remove and either perform a valve rattling sound check or apply air from cylinder head side of valve. In my humble opinion an alternatir with 50 or 51% shall exert more load on engine like this case but it shall not cause this much of eñgine shaking...as we know when engine experiences a mechanical impedence whether in shape of load by alternator due to over magnetism or its pullys dry bearing etc, the engine rpm try to reduce and in response ECU increases injector pulse to increase its torque to overcome the additional load at constant accelerator input...but in this scenario, the shaking can occur only when there is either air system issue or the fuel system issue. You may like to add on above comment, so that we take this discussion to further....n it will help us better understanding the issue and diagnosis through data analysis

Thank you for your feedback. May be you haven’t watched the video properly. First thing data not lying. See that how data is behaved. Next thing pcv has tiny flow at the idle which is normal. Put your finger on pcv valve at the idle, you can feel that your finger suck in to that. If pcv has considerable leak, airflow sensor response to it. Next thing AC ripple test reveals that the alternator is bad. Even though it supplies the charging voltage and current demand by putting his load onto the engine. Simple,…. Isolate the Alternator by removing its power supply socket take of the rough idle perfect. Normally this fault goes to Diode plate or stator coil. We have diagnosed this case lot in other cars too. One other video is lined up that how Alternator brings rough idle. Anyway….My way is trust the Data always.

@@ravifixall thankyou very much Ravi for your reply... You are right, we must not doubt on the data...i would like to discuss this topic further to clarify my concept...i have learnt so many things from your videos and i am one of the many of your admirers Before we discuss PCV and MAF things, if you can elaborate in detail, how to isolate the alternator to off load the vehicle...please dont mind, i really need to know for my future diagnosis (i did wish to do this but never practiced)... In next msg i will try to put forward my comment on MAF, Fuel Trim, and PCV valve...and would like to have your expert comment and this all discussion would be for learning, not to prove that you (whom i respect as a teacher) or your findings as wrong

@@ravifixall Now, in my understanding, about PCV leak and MAF response.....MAF doesn't measure any air entring due to PCV leak (PCV hose connected past MAF and close to throttle) or any other leak in air system past this sensor...now when we see the data in this video where we are looking a decrease in air flow...what i am interpretting it is...as pcv hose is coonected just near to throttle and air is entring the engine corresponding to vacuum it is generating and IAC duty set by ECU...NOW when PCV is leaking then an amount of air is going into engine from this source (&that too unmetred) and major amount is from air filter thru MAF (metered air). So, if net amount required to enter was 10g then as 2g is supplied by PCV leak(unmetred), therefore, 8g would be going thru MAF(Metered air) thats how the MAF air was reflected as less than normal.. Thus, the MAF doesn't respond directly to the pcv leak but it responds in terms of reduction in required air thru air filter.. Other scenario for looking MAF response to an air leak in intake manifold is...due to air (vacuum) leak, the vacuum pressure would decrease and engine would suck less air thru air filter source and again MAF would read less air
