I'm a bit confused. Michael Ellis told in one training session that your marker word "yes" should follow up with a reward not taking longer than 1 second. So if I recall my dog from around 10 meters away from me and I say my marker word "yes" I won't be able to deliver the reward under 1 second. In this case wouldn't it be better to use a filler word like "good" and "yes" when he arrived at my spot? Would really appreciate some clarification 🙏🏻

Ok I will do anything can you please help me? I have two pitbulls. Litter mates. One sister is fixed one is not. Raised them since they were 5 weeks. Slept in bed with me since day one. One of my Girls now goes crazy if my other girl Comes near me, or if she is with my boys she don’t want her sister near them. So when they do fight it’s bad. She’s possessive. I want to fix this

For my Cane Corso it's the postman and only the postman - constantly trespassing into our driveway in his unnatural wheeled vehicle. She's totally fine with everyone and everything else, no matter what's going on. Bloody postman is the bane of my life. He's the only reason she ever wears an e-collar.

I have a 9 month old APBT male I just got him started on the e collar. The mini educator. I just ordered the 4 prong comfort pads CP001, will that make it better for him? Should I just stick with the ones that came with the set for short haired? I placed it originally at the top of his neck and he barely responded at a 30! outside on a walk with distractions as I even saw his neck contracting with the taps! I feel bad did I do something wrong? So I ordered these pads and I think maybe place it midneck?

Hey man, I'm from germany and have a 4.5 month old vizsla. I really want to try to make things right with him. Sadly in Germany I don't know any good trainer I could contact to help me here. Are there any tips I should really focus on at his age?

We use a Springpole simply for the Tug-o-War fun .. lolol .. and it's great exercise :D The American Pit Bull Terrier *needs* that feeling of having wrestled with something to be happy. Having these kind of toys does *NOT* mean one is doing any illegal activities.

It’s nice, but I like reacting with my own dog close up and bonding, but like your post says it says if you cannot play tug with your dog, but I would worry this would smack my dog right in the face but again I’m sure it’s wonderful for some dogs. Hope you have a wonderfulThanksgiving and I hope Dante is doing well. I’ve asked several times about him, but you just never get back about the MRI.

It's also known as a spring pole - I have one that hangs from a crossbar on a sturdy wooden swing set - attached to a heavy spring that has a big tug on the end. My Corso loves it, and we also use it in call off games as shown here. Real good exercise. real good impulse control, real good fun.

I know this is an old video so you might not see my comment. My dog gets extremely excited when my in-laws come over. Would this be a behavior that needs correcting at a higher level? He knows place command, but will start whining and shaking on the place command as his excitement builds. Then he will eventually break the command.

Just wanna say sincerely THANK YOU Larry for the many years of hard work and passion and passing down you’re knowledge to us all, you have no idea how much value you’ve given us all and on a personal level you’ve helped me save a rescue dog who was aggressive/insure and all the above. I managed to use you’re principles and techniques and I’m so proud I was able to offer him the life he deserved. I am forever grateful and in debt to you and your e collar training videos and will hold this for the rest of my life and apply these principles. You have sparked a passion within me to help dogs and I wish I could learn from a professional like yourself would be a dream but like most of us life is overwhelming and to make a step like this seems impossible at times. Thank you Larry 👍🏻

Im doing the coller up to tight or not tight enough to get good contact 2. Im steuggling to tell if i found his working level becasue i thought i found it at 8 but then he itched around his ecoller and i stimmed him at 8 and his neck twitched more than it should have like it was wayyy to much so i dialed it back to 5 and that seemed okay but then i wasnt sure if he was feeling it at all!!! Im anxious AF to get this right 🤦🏼♂️

My dog barks a lot during the day when she hears noises outside. I have an e-collar that I started using when I was taking my dog to a dog trainer. I fell out of training habits, and I am wanting to start again. I plan to buy your book and learn how to correctly use an e-collar before trying to use it to calm her barking when she hears the doorbell or other outside noises. Thanks for the free informational videos!
