I've encountered this tool before in the wild before but thankfully never had a need for it. If someone ends up needing this, they had to make manyyy mistakes to wind up here 😂 Good to know that it works, though. Small utility companies like this and Laplink's PC Mover still have their niche scenarios that some people get themselves into. One thing to keep in mind is Microsoft VSS (which most hot backup solutions use) auto-exclude ost files via registry entries by default/ design, since the ost syncs to a mail server and rebuilds the ost cache, so even with a bare metal/image backup, the ost file wouldn't have been in the backup, so if their mail server (i.e. O365) didn't have the email data and the ost was their ONLY copy, they'd be SOL...

OK, you also have to move off any LXC conf files /etc/pve/nodes/name/lxc/*.conf. Also, rather than moving them off, I just moved them to /root/lxc and /root/vms

My schools ones are older and still run yt and Minecraft and all the good stuff

That's pretty dangerous, you really need to deactivate it in storage manager then pull it, just whipping the drive out could fuck things up as it's still spinning, telling DSM to deactivate it keeps it happy.
