yes you can use it like that but need to point it in the right direction and you need to know how to login to it and connect it to it.

i can't get pass the log in page (Admin/Admin user and pass) doesn't work it kept locking me out for 2 hours is there a way to reset it to default settings?

O no were these brand new or used? There should be a rest pin good by the Ethernet port area to hard reset it.

Good video, when you get a chance one day, you should try the Mikrotik Wireless Wire kit :). 60ghz and 1 gig through put !
