How to remove All Bookmarks Folder
In this video I will show you how to remove the All Bookmarks folder on the new version of google chrome 117.
Instructions
Type this in your browser chrome://flags
Find Power bookmarks side panel and set it to disabled

If you are missing the bookmarks side panel in the flags, check and remove any bookmarks from the "All Bookmarks" folder and it should disappear again.

THE OPTION IN THIS VIDEO DOESN'T PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN alternative option- 1: left click on the annoying "Other bookmarks" thing 2: right click on the bookmark that pops up and press "Delete". Don't worry you can bookmark them again later!! 3: repeat this for all the bookmarks in the "Other bookmarks" folder 4: go to the site you wanted to bookmark 5: press the star on the right end of the searchbar to bookmark it again. BUT in the small box that pops up, there should be an option labelled "Folder" with a drop down menu. Click on the drop down menu to change the option from "Other bookmarks" to "Bookmarks bar" 6: This should make sure that every time you make a bookmark, it's added to the bookmark bar like normal.

THANK YOU! Hated that "all bookmarks" folder as soon as I saw it. As it pushes the _"more bookmarks arrow"_ over to the left , instead of it being right a the end.

This option isn't possible in the newer versions of Chrome (as of Nov 2023). You instead need to go into the All Bookmarks folder and delete the Shopping List folder that was automatically added. This will cause the All Bookmarks folder to also disappear.

this no longer works... Power Bookmarks does not show up. Even if you disable all the "Bookmarks" , it still shows the "All Bookmarks" in the upper right hand corner

It worked fine in the past, and today the All bookmarks came back and the setting has disappeared so it seems there is no more way to get rid of it.

This worked but after I restarted Chrome it replaced the "All Bookmarks" folder with "Other Bookmarks" folder lol. I opened Bookmark Manager and there was a bookmark in Other Bookmarks so I moved it to the Bookmarks bar and that removed Other Bookmarks. Totally dumb you have to go into chrome://flags to remove something from the bookmark bar. Thanks for the vid!

@@andy148 The "other bookmarks" folder will dissapear once you delete all bookmarks from the folder. I had "settings" in the "other bookmarks" folder, once i deleted the "settings", the "other folder" was gone from bookmarks bar.

Thanks for the video, it helped a lot. I still had the "other bookmarks" folder which will dissapear once you delete all bookmarks from the folder. I had "settings" in the "other bookmarks" folder, once i deleted the "settings", the "other folder" was gone from bookmarks bar. It sounds so weird though.

any updates on this, it worked for me before but after a recent reinstall of windows ect, the only tab showing in the chrome://flags is "power bookmarks backend", after disabling that its still has the tab in the corner, nothing coming up for power bookmarks side panel, thanks

I just found this because I wanted to get rid of the bookmarks so I watched this video very helpful so I was just about to do that when it the power bookmark backend wasn't there theres only Tab Groups Save UI Update and Chrome for iOS promo : bookmarks does the chrome for ios promo count as the fist one or am I missing something?

The only option I have is "Power bookmark backend" which when I disable it makes no difference..... very annoying this feature... really gets in the way as I like my bookmark tab to be full with the most frequently used sites.

Doesn't work, not on the list anymore on the "chrome://flags" address page. Not even after adding the rest (bookmarks). I've had to clear this before last year, so it's not like I don't know how to go ot the flags page. But, as of it reappearing today - 11/9/23 no luck.

Just delete the bookmarks from within the "all bookmarks" folder and it disappears. It’s only there if there is not enough space to view all your bookmarks.

You can not delete that folder. In the bookmark manage page, you see 2 folders ("Bookmarks Bar" and "Other Bookmarks"). You can try to move all your files in that "Other Bookmarks" folder.
