Old video, but good :-) Thank you very much. Lifting the rear half is essential to be able to wiggle the shock out. I was struggling for about 10 min until I watch this video and noticed the straps holding the rear :-). My contribution (tried on a R1300R): based on the maintenance manual, you can remove the rear shock without removing the rear wheel and without removing the rear triangle/which bone: 1. Remove the preload handle by removing the little screw. 2. Remove the two top bolts of the lower triangle. Support the rear wheel (I use my foot) and the bolts come off easily. The rear triangle now slides down. Let it hang. 3. Remove the top bolt holding the suspension. 4. Remove the suspension to the bottom. You have to lift the rear wheel for it to come out.

What's the reason for changing the clutch fluid? It's Mineral oil, and not hydroscopic, and unlike brake fluid it doesn't come in contact with the kind of heat brakes create. The fluid you used to replace the clutch fluid is of a completely different viscosity, then the mineral oil you removed that must have changed the trail of the clutch lever for operation.

Perfect 2012 BMW K1300S, crazy that BMW doesn't call out for changing of clutch fluid. After seeing your video I did, and what a difference it made with the clutch. Thank you my friend. Change at 21,300 miles.

what handprotectors you have? from where have you take them?

For me most accurate is under the seat side one is not showing the same as inside the box for me... I put bike on central stand worm up engine a little more than 30 sec and wait few minutes remove stick wipe it and put inside, that indication should be correct.

hello! how do you check engine oil level , under the seat after you let 30 sec the motor running , and 30 after motor off , or on the right side of reservoir ?

Helpful video, thanks. Some adds fro when I did my bike. The cap has two plastic tabs that both need to be pushed in for easy removal. The other is that I could not get free flow throgh the system until I removed the clutch lever and pulled out the plunger pin. I injected the new fluid from the grub screw port with a syringe, worked fine. Lastly BMW Vitamol V10 hydraulic fluid isn't easy to find (the BMW parts dummies gave me DOT 3 oil), DO NOT USE DOT oil in K1200R clutch! I used Jaguar Mineral Oil LHM they hide the details but its a light SAE10 Mineral Oil (hydraulic Oil) some is green some is dyed blue, KTM motorcycles and Magura systems use the same type of mineral oils.
