Hi- great video. I notice you got the XL. Can I ask what your height/weight is roughly? I'm feeling like the deboer suits are very small fitting and their size charts seem off to me. Was that your experience and did you have to size up multiple sizes?
@RealLifeReviews16 күн бұрын
@@stevenyhe hi there and thank you for your kind words. I think they do come up small. I'm 5'10" (178cm) tall and weigh 83kg. I have relatively short legs, long torso. I sent Deboer my measurements and they suggested the size and that if necessary I carefully cut the legs (I haven't 😀). If you go on their website they list the relevant measurements and you can send them over, they will then tell you which size should fit. Good luck, I had a massive PB in IM Hamburg this year in mine.

I have just bought this suit. The chamois nice but location is very strange. It comes up and around to the pubic bone - an area that I cant imagine anyone would need saddle protection from. As a result it doesn't go as far back as I would hope and barely covers the sit bones when in climbing position. I'm really hoping it's a me issue and I can adjust it

You are quite the ambassador. Good job!! The whole concept of readyness i dont quite understand. I have added a 70.3 and a full distance for next year (june / august). I have input to invest 12 hours per week. Training now for 2 weeks. My performance in general is not bad. My bike ftp is 225 watts (at 69kg), my running 44min for 10k, my swim 1:55/100m. Im doing sports regularly for many years (im 44). Yet humango shows the projected readyness at 87% and my goal readyness at 69. i find that confusing and hard to believe. Also the events are far out. Does humango tell me, that with a year training at 12 hours per week i can still only reach a readyness of 87% or 69 (whats even the difference between these values)? I like to follow the plam but i dont get what humango is projecting and why.
@RealLifeReviews2 ай бұрын
I am in complete agreement with you over the projected readyness and current goal readyness. What's particularly frustrating is that you can follow the plan and see your projected readyness go down, especially with a rest day that's part of the plan. Two weeks out from IM Hamburg everything was 100+%. By the time I was half way through my taper I was 88%. Overall, I rate Humango but there are areas where there is still work to be done. Ultimately it provides me with a core structure which I can play around with. Your current level by the way is very good. You will have no problem with your 70.3 and Full - it'll be about your target times 😅. Good luck.
@99cya2 ай бұрын
@@RealLifeReviews im glad we agree on that. i was quite irritated. i cant say im too happy about it, since its 29.- a month (hefty) but i think i will keep it. it gives me some good structure and a sense of obligation to be compliant to it. without such a plan i most often train way too hard. i go running at a hard pace, do too many threshold runs or my cycling trip is all over the zones. so the plan teaches me to go easy and even if its just 2 weeks, i learned to appreciate going much much easier but regularly. its quite different to what i am used to and i think my vitals are quite positively influenced by that. also it gives me some level of elite-feeling as im doing quite often more than 1 training per day ;-) lets me feel like a pro, haha. thanks for saying my stats are quite well. that gives me a nice confidence boost :-) have a good day!!

Hi. Would you have a recommendation for the following "problem": i can do long training sessions on the weekend, but only every other weekend. hardly ever two in a row. i can set the default availability only weekly. if the long sessions are planned on a weekend where i have limited time, how would you deal with the workouts?
@RealLifeReviews2 ай бұрын
@@99cya I know it's not a bi-weekly planning solution but if I want to do something similar I go to my calendar and delete a session then add in another from the library. I suspect the reason it's not built in (at the moment?) is that long term programmes will have periodisation built in and also often work in blocks (i.e. 3 weeks building followed by a recovery week) progressing through different phases (base/build/peak/taper.....).
@99cya2 ай бұрын
i am in my free trial period for humango and i have looked at other training plans etc. i might be totally wrong, but for someone who just likes doing sports and wants to finish such an event in an average time, these plans and recommendations appear overly complicated to me.
@RealLifeReviews2 ай бұрын
@@99cya Hi there. First off let me confirm that I have nothing to do with Humango, I'm not an employee or ambassador and I pay full price for my package 😀. Having said that I think there are two aspects of complexity that are particularly relevant to you. The first is the plan itself. In this case it is a matter of setting the activities (number of, length of and which days) and your goal to suit you. This in itself is quite straight forward. You can then alter this as you work through your plan should you wish. The second is the data. Quite 'simply', the data is there - you can simply ignore it 😀. However, as you train I think you are likely to want to see how certain elements are improving, even if that just starts with resting heart rate for example. As you progress you can 'entertain' more data elements. For me almost, if not the, biggest bonus of Humango is that it gives you a very cost effective structure to follow. I hope this helps.

With people trying to sell you helmets, I often feel like I would be better of without their help. I don't know why, but it seems that they simply sit there, just like the helmets. Helmets are a sensitive thing though, it has to do with taste...I guess, first if they are safe, than the taste comes in...MET helmets look better in a way. I like them.

Lol I use the Met Crossover, with all the stuff on it. I have to be honest that I have it with me, but I don't always put it on. I mean...when I need to have one on I do, like on the tracks and such. And in some occasions it makes you simply feel safer. So in heavy traffic. More and more I start learning to wear the thing. And I liked the METs versions since well...colors and style, and they seem sane enough. With a light in the back. I liked them. And they feel and fit ok.

I have ordered another two TPU tubes which have alloy valve stems which weigh 36 grams but hopefully will be more robust regarding the valve stem. Plastic stem type to be avoided in my opinion. I’ve also bought some latex tubes which transforms your ride re comfort.

Learning a ton from your vids… if you had to pick one tool only- for short weekend bike packing and daily rides - stored in a top tube bag, which one would you pick ? The alien or the PT30? Sorry for such a noob question, I wanna pick one and have that pretty be my mainstay
@RealLifeReviews4 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind comments and not a noob question. For weekend bike packing I personally would use the Alien. The extra weight and size wouldn't worry me (whilst bike packing isn't a race I tend to look for any training positives that I can 😀) and the useability (larger tools, not having to remove the chaintool, having spanners) in poor conditions can save a lot of frustration. The caveat I would add though is that I would be carrying a separate Dynaplug tubeless repair kit. Do enjoy your bike packing and drop a comment somewhere to let me know how your first trip goes.
@vilavg36574 ай бұрын
between this 20Pro, the PT30, the Alien 2, which one would you recommend?
@RealLifeReviews4 ай бұрын
A good question and as you might expect the answer depends on your preferred type of riding. For bike packing and long days on the trail (MTB) it would be the Alien 2 - chunky and easy to use in poor conditions. Racing on my Tri bike it's the 20Pro (partly because I use the Dynaplug Racer Pro plugs and don't therefore need any of the 'tubeless specific' elements). Bike park/enduro days on the MTB it would be the 20Pro if I was carrying Dynaplug or the PT30 if i was using ordinary plugs. I hope this helps.

for tubeless tyre repairs - do you think the tool with a serrated age is necessary? (that tool with a textured file that creates some a rougher surface for the rubber insert to latch on to?) I have a mini pro 20 - curious if that's good enough for bikepacking. thanks!
