ill just leave an idea for when u'll have time for projects. try using a backpack for capacitators and make the gun longer in a sniper rifle setup, it's bolt action anyways. tnks for ur dedication

P.S> Before I forget... You should have build the 18,000 version since it was designed to hold a higher capacity and use the IGBT's and timing circuits with INF's for tracking and Activation/shutoffs to collapse of the wells and expanding the builds with less coils for maximum velocity. I love Mother and her necessities for inventions. Hope this tantalizes your brain cells.

Great results! You made it well :) I'm still thinking on my own coilgun. While have only some math modeling and circuit simulations. Can surely approve your findings. Some questions if you don't mind: - Projectile demagnetize once leave the coil, but still there exist magnetic hysteresis in it. Have you tried magnetizing close stages in different directions (by winding a coil in opposite direction)? - How you minimize in-barrel friction? I'd like also to share some ideas to improve your design (will hope it's useful): - Have you thought on recuperative recharging of energy in capacitors? It can increase energy available for next stages and you can easily use more energy on first one. - You already saw how initial speed improve efficiency. Haven't you thought to some mechanical launch of projectile before first stage? Also, have thoroughly looked through the files you attached in the description and haven't found charts you present in the video. Is there any chance you can share them?

Whoa sketchup aww yeah. Not sure what exactly is going on in the excel but the simulation reminds me of this time march method I saw a simulations professor showed in class. So mindblowing how simple the concept is

I would also vent the barrel to allow for pressure equalisation behind the projectile when it is propelled. Otherwise the slight vacuum caused behind the projectile will cause additional drag when you operate the trigger and release the projectile down the barrel..

That device is truly fascinating and I love the way it looks. It clearly shows how much thought you put into that aswell as time. Also, was thinking, you know if you scaled that up to the size of a space station, it would look like a mass relay from the Mass Effect games, to launch a space craft up to light speed or quicker in an instant 😏🙂 If you get government and NASA funding, you can scale it up 😉🙃

Why is the rod so long? It would be much easier to accelerate a bullet sized projectile. Thats why bullets arent rods. Could probably get like 200-500 more fps out of it. Cool build tho. Also, what if you put the capacitors on the side of the rifle so its easier to hold?
