I think your missing the main point here by that hit: if you want to end someone's career, that's the type of hit you take on a person. If one of his feet were planted firmly in the ground, his draft status would have tanked from a severe knee injury. The defensive player launched his entire body into his knees, not the chest or stomach area. That's a take him out of the game hit, period.

Idk he’s scrambling out of pocket right? When a qb leaves the pocket don’t they lose the protections they get meaning as long as it isn’t late or a head shot then it’s clean? I can see people saying he shot for his legs but you can’t really hit above the chest anymore.

Even if it wasn’t roughing the passer because they thought he was a runner, although he was behind the line of scrimmage and established his footing to make sure he didn’t pass the line of scrimmage so I don’t see how he can be considered a runner but none the less, even if he was a runner, leading with your helmet at the knees is ridiculous and dirty asf and only aiming for one goal, to end someone’s career. @rodreed253710 күн бұрын
You sound ridiculous. Hitting below the knees is roughing the passer. As a former D1 collegiate linebacker, it is clear that it wasn't a late hit, but it was definitely an illegal hit. He intended to cause injury. He's a dirty player!
@ECG_FB10 күн бұрын
@@rodreed2537 thank you for your contributions to the game. But as the rules state for what is a roughing the passer and who is a defenseless player, it was a “clean play” by ncaa rules sake. I would never call a player dirty, I just think it was a bang bang play. Not disagreeing with the going to knees statement, but I do think the rules need to be adjusted to support this.

@rodreed25379 күн бұрын
@ECG_FB It's clear that you know very little about the other elements that make this a penalty. Intent plays a major role, and he intended to cause injury. Intention is an important part of this being an illegal hit. If he had been pushed into Shaduer, that would be different. You don't accidentally hit below the knees, b. This is strictly enforced in most situations. It should have been enforced here.

@@rodreed2537 Praise God that Shedeurs feet were off of the ground. That could have been multiple ligaments injured or a broken leg. We've seen it before. Let me preface this by saying my comment is intended to seek input, more information, & clarity - not to give my opinion. What should the defensive player have done? If you slow it down, the principal point of content is the shin. It's metaphorically & literally a moving target. The D-man is taller so if he hits high it's a much higher chance of R.T.P. or targeting. If he hits knee Sanders is out for a year. Bit higher he hits em in the 🥜🥜, & that's not gonna be fun. Bit higher and its a few cracked ribs. Higher & its potentially a hit to the heart 😬. Higher and it's R.T.P / targeting. QB's pump fake on the run all the time so you can't assume he's actually throwing it & not gonna tuck and run. D commits right before the ball leaves QB hands & objectively does a pretty good job of taking QB's legs out so the force sends him spinning instead of caving in his knee or ankle or etc. Now I understand that can be attributed to luck, however that begs the question even if the defender misses where he aims, it could still result in a dangerous hit. All that being said, what was the defender supposed to do? Thank you in advance for y'alls time and to the channel's creator 🙏.

It was a dirty hit and an intentionally dirty hit. The End. This clown says #2 expects to get hit when out of the pocket. Really? Shedeur Sanders was hit 50 times last year. And a number of times this year. He has never, ever...EVER once complained. He takes the hits like a CHAMP and keeps on rocking. He expect to be hit, yes, but not to be intentionally targeted and hit with a dirty cheap shot and a potentially tragic result to his career. The take in this post is utterly disingenuous in my opinion. In fact, it's ludicrous. And to call it fair or even an attempt to be fair, is a Lie.

What? Tom Brady wasn't hit like this at all. Brady was hit in the pocket by a defender who was on the ground and lunged to make a tackle.
