I got a 36 mm and then went for a Daytona Panda, the datejust just feels better. Daytona is nice, but it doesn't seen as balanced as the 36 mm datejust a 40 mm datejust doesn't look right.

It is a beautiful watch and the ideal size for most at 36mm. Given the price though Rolex should offer the customer the choice of this clasp or the old-style one. The same goes for the date wheel; why can we no longer have the choice of the roulette date wheel ? Rolex, stop treating your customers like crap...

One thing is not taken into account in your analysis, I think: It’s normal that a dive watch is a bit bigger than, for example, a dress watch. So I say keep your sub (great looking watch!) and if you feel like wearing something dressier, add a DJ (like the one you showed)! They will both look great on you, just in different ways 👍 If I were you, the sub would be a keeper, for sure. Take care.

Nice video Serge, and I've had a few Submariner's, but let me just say that my only ever Datejust is a 116200 black dial domed bezel on Oyster bracelet, and it's my longest ever held luxury watch, 12 years and counting, so I guess I don't really care about that other "stuff". 🙂

IMO this is the weakest sub reference with those beefy lugs.

These 2 watches serve completely different purposes so it’s useless to even try to compare them.

The jubilee bracelet is more comfortable. There have been many times I legit thought my DJ wasn't on my wrist and had to check in fear.

Interestingly they have the exact same dial size. The DJ 36 also has a beefy 20 lug to lug. A truly amazing design.

I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the amzwatch has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.

When I was in my 20s I used to read paper magazines and every time I see a rolex ad , it was usually for a 36 mm Rolex and It was a dream for me to get one . Other Rolexes like Subs or GMTs have never caught my attention at that time. I was overwhelmed by the internet craze about big Rolexes , last year I got a Sub and I used it for two months, it looked very weird and heavy. I sold it , you know it sells in seconds and I got my dream Rolex , a 36 mm with olive green dial. I am much happier and guess what, it gets attention everytime , congrats on your great watch. (By the way I had to chose between the Wimbledon like your and the green but I chose the green)

How big is your wrist? The Datejust fits your wrist so much better in my opinion, the Sub looks a bit too big.

Both are actually nice and serves a different purpose. I do have the same DJ as yours as my first Rolex and love it. Don’t have a Submariner yet, still on the fence if I want a Sub or a Sea Dweller. Did get a GMT sprite on jubilee recently. Nice review for both watches, wear them in good health. New subscriber here 😊
