One of the worst things that happens in US jails is jailors not taking your medical condition seriously. I haven't been to jail in many years, but the last time I went they completely disregarded my need to take medications that I had been on for years. None of my medications were narcotics, they were pills for HBP and a Beta Blocker. Even though I'm relatively young, I have a chronic kidney disease that requires me to take these medications. I was denied my medications the entire time I was locked up. I was in jail for three weeks.

I've only spent hours in jail in that time I've learned there is so much more wrong with jails then just overcrowding. One jail doesn't have any way for you to figure out how to contact a bail bonds company. I got incredibly lucky that an inmate had the number memorized... another have us these smelly mattresses that were about the same cushioning as a yoga mat and both wouldn't allow you to have a pillow and took away anything you used a a pillow. Now mind you, i have no criminal record. Every time i went to jail i was out within hours and charges were always dropped. But there are people who live with these conditions for months or years. These were county or municipal jails. I can't speak for long term facilities as i have never been. But these conditions aren't ok even for hours. They are accepted because people believe in treating people who commit crimes like animals or say, they can avoid it by not committing crimes. But they are still humans and even if that attitude were morally right, these are facilities for people awaiting trial. A lot of them are like me. Innocent. False accusations or wrong place wrong time, or they were pinched trying to correct a wrong with a corrupt system or officer. No matter how you look at it, our jails should be better. I'm not saying tempurpedic mattresses and bunches of pillows but something that passes as a real mattress and a pillow per person. There should be an easy to find list of resources available for things like bailing out. Personally, i don't understand why they don't keep you at intake if you make it clear you want to bail out. Every time i tell them I'm bailing out they still make me spend hours going through the whole process just to make a call and be out within minutes. One was so bad, they make you spend the night in a solitary cell without allowing a phone call and then transfer you to the open bay style group facility the next day before you have access to a phone to get bailed out. I believe in the need for a jail system but the conditions they live in is unacceptable.

"Due to an error by an inept bank employee". I've worked in banks for more than 30 years. This is totally plausible and incredibly common. The employee wasn't malicious, or stupid, but they may have been new or poorly trained. And these debt collection companies have built a business from these errors.

There’s an innocent man who was actually TORTURED in a deportable Indiana prison in isolation for THIRTEEN MONTHS (for no reason whatsoever… no disciplinary or criminal record) ….. PRE TRIAL!! (I am NOT EXAGGERATING!) they literally drove him completely insane and coaxed confessions out of him which were used against him to convict him!!!!!!!!!!!! Our country is barbaric and worse than countries that we pretend we’re better than. Privatized prisons is a horrible failed experiment.

When it comes to lawyers fee, I assume it works like that old joke about car maintenance, where the mechanic looks at the car for ten minutes, fixes it with a single tap, and charges 500$, and when the car owner demands an itemized bill it turns out he's charging a dollar for the tap and everything else for KNOWING WHERE TO TAP. Specialist jobs tend to work like that, in my experience.

Neo-nazi's used to pick a town to march their parade in back in the 80's. That's the last time I remember... maybe early 90's? Neo-nazi's are not half the population. Calling protesters "Neo-nazi" and "white supremacy" is just one of the propaganda smears that the Democratic party came up with. How about bias to facts, bias to free speech, bias to critical thinking. Fox wasn't bias for Trump they were biased for ratings back then. But I hate to admit, that was when I voted for Hillary. That was when I was a Democrat and hadn't realized how completely brainwashed I was by npr & pri & MSNBC & well everything back then. Because Elon hadn't blown a huge wad on free speech. Which was also quite impressively honest. Which is what my bias is now, honesty. I used to wonder why those I voted for never did what I thought they would do, once in office. I believed them when they blamed the Republicans for everything. Problem was, this time there wasn't any Republicans in charge. First thing Biden signed was an executive order compelling businesses to use ridiculous pronouns. Oh and Kamala I voted for her too for DA of SF. Boy was I pissed when she bragged about putting men in Chowchilla Women's correctional. I am a gay woman in Northern California (where my cats could probably get a ballot). I really have hope that this gender lunacy that is killing the meaning of words like "woman" is seen for what it really is, hateful and spiteful towards actual women. It's decimating gay women by turning them into Muppets or garden gnomes. Not being "transphobic" is NOT caring. It's hard to be honest and honesty is respecting the truth, not waving some fairy wand and lying to kids about their actual body.

I have a personal story about why one should always look. A few months ago I got an e-mail from my building's admin. I knew there would be the building maintenance expense bills, and was TERRIFIED of opening it due a previous mix up on my part resulting in having to take a loan to pay those bills, plus not heating the home because a heater was leaking and would run up that bill. But I still opened the mail, knowing it was better deal with it now than let it fester... And discovered that THEY owe ME money. Over 2k€. And I plan to collect to help pay my moving.

Yes sir no sir . How about remaining silent or i don't answer questions. And Pennsylvania vs Mimz is the biggest abused court case ever used (abused) . And we all know cops have huge egos and get their feelings hurt when you don't bow down and lick them boots. And we all know cops use the old go to "I smell weed" to get PC to search. Most of them seem like they are part blood hounds .and can smell anything illegal. When in reality they are liars and there is zero consequences for the search if nothing is found. Maybe you should make a video about how to avoid getting caught in a trap that bad cops try to set .

Thanks! Topical for me (only based on KZbin watching history, not driving and being stopped by the police!:) I'd just watched this video on KZbin. (Video titled : Hillsborough County Detention Deputy Gets Himself Fired. Channel "Real World Police") This woman and her husband illustrate x 10 why complying on a traffic stop would make life so much simpler. (I should send them your link. I am sure they'd take it well, the husband has time on his hands to watch it as he ended being fired from his job, all over his wife's inability to be wrong on anything....) I wanted to ask a question on the law. Are there different rules for Depositions to trials with regards to what the defence and prosecutor attorneys can do regarding communicating with each other when the witness is on the stand? Maybe it is a small point, but I've seen a few deposition videos posted on KZbin recently and the attorneys seem to be able to tackle each other directly on a few things and the judge doesn't seem to intervene to control the exchanges, which get heated at times. In a trial, exchanges always seems to be strictly controlled by the judge, e.g. one attorney raises an "objection" and then the judge referees how this exchange then takes place between the attorneys.

I always wanted to be a juror. Never got called, by plain dumb luck, and now that I'm no longer living in the United States I probably never will. It sounds absolutely fascinating. I used to hear friends and colleagues talk about trying to get out of jury service and I wished I could just say, "Hey, I'll take your place!" even though I knew the courts have to be random about whom they accept.

@jvanek8512 I haven't heard that "most of the world" has done away with juries -- at least most of the civilized world; I'm sure North Korea doesn't bother with them -- and I have no reason to think they should. Juries are like elections... they put important decisions in hands that are not expert, but have better safeguards against corruption than the available alternatives. Every lawyer I know who has also served on a jury says that they were deeply impressed by how seriously the jury took their job, and how solid their grasp of the facts was. They know what to look for, and generally think that they're seeing it when they get a chance to watch deliberations from the inside. I'm happy to stick to the jury method for serious criminal trials... I can't think of anyone else I would trust to be so careful. Judges are all over the spectrum; some are excellent, others have their own agenda or are simply far too easy to bribe.
