Yes, good call! You can check with your HOA or other folks in your complex to see if there is a way to request a delivery for your appartment, if you have outdoor spaces that could benefit from mulch. Alternatively, if you just need a little bit, we encourage folks to post their 'extra wood chip mulch' on our sister app, Freeya Marketplace: freeya.com. You can create an account and set up a search alert to let you know when some is available for pickup near you.

You would need to cancel your request before the delivery if you changed your mind, otherwise you would still get the delivery.

@@getchipdrop Just signed up recently haven't got drop yet. Arborist chips are $18 yard at local yard and one arborist I know sells his loads for $150 a dump (7-10 yards), will be great if get some "free" dumps. Cedar chips are $50 a yard so 20 yards of that would be $1,000 saved!!

When calling arborist, I found it very difficult to get chips dropped. The first time it worked the second just a bunch of we will put you on the list and never heard back. With chip drop it went very well.I had a couple of them call me before they wanted to make delivery. Yes their was the occasional wrapper in their . The key is to leave a tip and tell them to have the driver call before delivery.

@@OfLanceTheLonginus Rain (poor man's fertilizer) is a source of nitrogen, however it is inadequate in most areas. For plant health that most people desire more is needed. Adding organic matter is a great way to have a continuous/stable supply of nitrogen.

Interesting. I don't think that would be possible with the equipment that most tree companies operate. You might need to rent a skid steer with a bucket loader to move the material after it's been dropped, if you don't want to do it by hand.

I can verify everything they stated is 100% fact. it took me 3 years to use up the pile they left me last time! My neighbors did not help at all, and in fact someone's dog who runs around loose and free pooped in the pile literally every day. I'm almost ready to do it again, or am I? 😀

You. can specify any species that you don't want, yes. You aren't able to specify a single species that you want to receive, like "Only cedar chips, please." I hope that answers your question!

It's a great idea but if you're allergic to POISON IVY, like I am, best to stay way! You have no way of knowing if the tree(s) they removed had a huge vine of p.i. growing on it. I get the heebie jeebies just thinking about it! 😰

Yes, it's pretty unlikely, but it could happen. We do have a section where you can list species you don't want, and you could use this section to list poison ivy if you were worried about getting it.

I got my second chipdrop recently. They sent me an email stating, "within 48 hours, you'll receive your chipdrop." It was less than 12 hours later I received my 3 year supply of free wood chips. Lol. I'm hoping my neighbors will ask if they can have some. I really don't need this much, but that's a risk I am totally willing to take. Only waited a few weeks both times. If you haven't done it yet, take the risk, cause it's worth it.

If you logged into your account and placed a request, then you can simply cancel your request in your account the same way. If you only created an account on our signup form online (getchipdrop.com/signup), then there's no request yet and you don't need to cancel anything.

It’s not always like that. Remember context. I deliver hundreds of loads of chips annually and people ask for more. We don’t have the luxury of dropping partial amounts because we have to get back to the job and we can’t close the tailgate and if we could the load is off balance. Chip Dump has helped tons of people and tree companies alike.

They would only do that if you had specified to have it dropped in your driveway. If you need your driveway and garage clear at all times, you would need to specify an alternate drop location on your property.

HELP!!! Logs (SEVERAL feet long dropped despite my saying “NO logs”). I cannot lift them and mulch (mostly long twigs) are decomposing/attracting flies and no end in sight. (Note sent multiple emails to Chip Drop support (with lots of photos) + tried to contact arborist who dumped the long logs FOR DAYS & no reply yet. I HOPE they just bring a chipper by soon and turn it to mulch!!! If not, I have a hefty complaint that I don’t want to do…

I have almost 3 acres of land and my house is in the middle so I don't care when or where they drop it. But if i lived in that neighborhood with the tiny driveway and they dropped it in the driveway while while my vehicle was in the garage, I'd be pissed.

Yes, it's important to specify a drop site that can be dropped at all hours of the day, whether you are home or not. It depends on your specific situation where the best drop site would be on your property. Some folks who don't have driveways request it to be dropped next to the sidewalk, but they also have to be careful to move it quickly so as not to block the right of way for too long. Pick the location that works best for you!
