That’s a proper goody bag. I ran the Antrim coast half marathon here in Northern Ireland last weekend and it was disastrous. Not even a banana at the finish line

Keep up with your training Ady. I did the Tara Kinder 10k on Friday with my best mate, I got another PB, and he also got a PB too! The run was thru the Elvaston Castle grounds, a 10k run. Was a great event! We did the Parkrun the day after, on West Park - Long Eaton, I got another PB too!

Been for a load of runs last week with my best mate, and a couple with my running club. Actually beat a few times! Can't believe the Ramathon happened near 2 weeks ago now. Got a load of runs this week with my best mate, including one on Friday at Elvaston Castle. No costume though for that! The costume will be back on for the Wilne 10k, the Great North Run, the Robin Hood Half, the Worksop Half and the Derby 10 Mile! Keep it up with your training! Doing well!

My name is Aiden and I’m also aiming for sub 1:45 GNR 😮 My downfall last year was I didn’t do enough practice runs in the heat to resemble race day. Too many 5:30/6am starts to avoid it which I then realised was detrimental to actual race day when it was a killer. Definitely need to do some test runs in the heat 😢
@MrMrsGNR3 ай бұрын
Good luck with the training mate and hope you have a great GNR 🏃♂️ hill training is one of my pleasures ( not a common opinion I know)🤣 but all time on your feet is time well spent 💪 just noticed your Blaydon race top, that was a great run this year 👍

Good stuff Ady. It's nice when your missus will just come and pick you up, no bother. Not sure I'd get away with that too often lol. Hopefully you get those health concerns sorted out soon. I know what you mean about being camera shy at races. You feel so weird chatting away to the camera with all those other runners around. They usually think you're taking to them at first 😅 Have a good race! 👍🏻🏃♂️

@@AdyRuns82 I've done all ar one, of my runs for charity, in a version of the Superman costume, I grew up on the classic Christopher Reeve movies. Each year, since 2014, I get the back of the cape printed too, to show who I am raising money for, the runs I'm doing, why I'm doing them plus the actual runs I'm taking part in that year. I'll get a video sorted with some photos on, then you'll be able to see the back of the cape! I'm on Instagram too, SupermanRuns is my tag! Cheers

If you saw someone in a Superman costume, that was me! Fundraising for Alzheimer's Society. The Ramathon was run 3 of 8 this year for them. My best mate also took part in it with me, though I did sort of speed off after the 4th mile! But, he got a PB! I also got a PB! I took 16 mins off of my previous PB when I did the Great Birmingham Run in May! Really enjoyed the event.

@@AdyRuns82 Thank you! Was a brilliant day, my best mate just last night said he was still smiling from it on Sunday! He's proper got the running bug now, and glad I've been able to help him get to that distance too! Gone from also just being a running partner back in January, to one of my best mates and pretty much family, all because of running, asking him back in January if he'd be up for doing some runs together. I may post an interview from BBC Radio Nottingham, (had many over the last year) but this one, I do talk about the runs, the friendship built down to running etc.

Ooo small bit of footage of me looking at my watch at the start line in the green top lol Nice video pal...and well done on the time! Good to see someone do a video on their run, wasnt a bad course apart from the gravel section which had quiet a bit of loose pebbles what you reckon?
@AdyRuns823 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching! Yeah, that gravel section was a bit tricky, I ran it in 2021 + 2022 and the tarmac along the river path hadn't been laid. It was very tricky to navigate, so hopefully it will be all done next year.👍
