I’ve read all the ADR rules including the AS/NZS 3001.2:2022 and have come to the conclusion that these rules are nothing more than a protection racket for the Australian battery and battery installation industry. The companies that were on the steering committee had a financial interest in aligning these rules to maximise and protect their profits. The rules are opaque enough to confuse the average Joe and serious enough to attract every fear mongering vendor in Australia to convince you into buying their solutions.

Hello, nice job , i have a question, I installed 12/12 30 amp victron dc to dc to my van at it gave me 25 amp before but now it gives me 12/to 13 amp for 100amp lifepo4 battery to charge , do you any idea why it doesn’t charge with at least 25 amp. Thanks
@bubbarob19787 күн бұрын
So is that an external 12 to 48v step-up charger hooked directly to the starter battery and then charging the 48v batteries? Are you just showing that it can supply enough voltage at idle to charge the external batteries? Just trying to follow as I am interested in something like this to charge batteries in the event of a power outage.

Will this only work on square / rectangular shaped tanks or can it work with odd shaped tanks? Specifically tanks that wrap over wheel wells in van builds?
@Safiery13 күн бұрын
As long as it can be above the deepest part of the tank without baffles in the way it will report the level. Then Victron Manage off tanks by allocating a percentage of tank to the level as you fill it. That way you can monitor an off sized tank.

I have been observing Safiery systems for a long time - (and have sent a few customers your way) I personally think out of everyone on the market (trying) to produce premium power systems - you guys/gals are 'actually' doing it. I was a long time believer in the power of victron before safiery stepped casually into the scene - and when i witnessed your systems I was taken aback - literally - these systems you are building.... WOW - - first move - buck boost and upgraded alternator - producing 3-5kva is it? so good. I've always been amazed at the robust versatility of Victron energy equipment - when Safiery began - producing second to none systems integrating victron with their own personally designed and manufactured equipment - I knew safiery was here to stay and thrive. I have been a power system designer for some time, and helped where i can advising installs - supplying ultra-premium cables made from scratch - (your power system is only as good as your terminations are) seeing a company not only design and install premium power systems but continually upgrade their designs and innovate new equipment to bring that higher end of development is as impressive as it is inspiring - Keep up the excellent work!

@Safiery2 ай бұрын
Hi Yes, the industry standard is pulsing at low power. Originally, the pot, if it has enough iron or copper will smooth this out. The problem is the new pots that are induction "compliant" are thin with non-aluminium metal and expose the pulsing.
@toby-wankenobi81972 ай бұрын
I've read sodium batteries can go down to a much lower voltage than the victron cut off so you don't get to use the full range of these batteries. Can you comment on this maybe a dc to dc converter can be used to maintain the desired voltage. Operating voltage of 1.5 to 4.3V per cell so 6v to 17.2 for a 12v system
@Safiery2 ай бұрын
Yes Sodium will go lower but we set tham at the victron limit and get 90% of the published capacity within the victron range.

We are using a 240V Matter compliant Australian approved GPO plug in device. It’s compatible with STAR-power so the App in the video can chop and change between the two. Our new app is underway now and it will do the same but you can have linked automation that turns on the induction, exhaust fan and lights in kitchen on one switch. Then if you have a night mode , it will switch off the 240v devices and dim the kitchen light….

I'm slightly confused. This looks to be a fantastic system, perhaps one I could put into our truck camper setup, but the battery configuration has me mystified. You mention that the battery is 600Ah, is that at 12V or 48V? I can't imagine it is 24V, but I could be wrong. I would have thought using kWh for battery size is better, clearer and final.
@Safiery3 ай бұрын
Hi Allan. We do use kWh on our quotes and product descriptions. Its only in the KZbin video i refer to 12V equiv because we have 3 years of messages challenging the Ah at 50V. We professionally dont use Ah. We use Watt Hours because the different voltages charging and discharging makes a difference.
