Really good tips! And thanks for giving "stacking" a name. I've been struggling with this, now that it has a name and description, I know how to employ it. Other tools that work for me are: mapping it, writing it down from memory. Usually describing phrases of 8 but sometimes literally a "map". And personally, I like the choreographer to show the whole piece at the very beginning so that I can get a feel for our aim. This also helps incorporate some of the moves into the warm-up. Thank you, again!

Two thumbs-up! I love "Jumpin' at the Woodside" but can't even fathom doing the Lindy Hop to it.

Excellent advice and coaching, thanks. I am on my second time through 3 months of beginner Lindy Hop/Swing/Solo Jazz. You learn as much thru the second time as the first, TBH. It is a time for trimming things in and learning the finer points to look smoother on the dance floor. What you present here makes a lot of sense once one finds one or a few regular dance partners who are as keen on advancing as you are. Some follows in my intermediate classes are giving much better feedback - it def takes a while to get mutual frame and connection with the follower.

Man get a show going. You sound a bit nerdy and a bit over sophisticated but you balance with your charm and you know what you're doing. Make up a plan and do a learn to dance series. You're above KZbin. You can go cable maybe mainstream

I’ve come to enjoy conceptualizing the dance as a conversation, one person says something to start it off (the lead) and the other person responds (the follower), but then the first person has to adjust based on that input or pushback and so on. It takes two to carry on a conversation so each side is equally as important in shaping the direction of it and it is good playing around with being the initiator or responder.

Not only was this executed flawlessly, but it also looks so fun. Great job Dax and Sarah! If I had someone to dance with, I surely would. Thanks for keeping the Charleston alive ❤

I love your videos on general tips. I dance salsa and bachata.. and would love to hear about your experience as a responder and how to lean on to the discomfort that sometimes arises when being one... also, I would love a video on how to increase body awareness ❤ thank you!

This idea is quite valuable. I love to improvise but I hadn't thought about stretching moves out in this manner. This approach will add some new dimensions. Thx!

What kind of shoes is she wearing? (Meaning...are they ballroom, character shoes, etc) What kind of sole does it have? Suede, leather? Ive been looking for some closed toe/heeled shoes for wood floors.

I had to literally do like a gazillion rocksteps and triple steps just to get the muscle memory to do it without thinking about it so that I could start getting a good flow. Wax on wax off, right?

JAndrioli, I am glad this video is helpful. If you always look at bounce as a "variable" then you can tune into the moment and choose a bounce that works at any given moment.

Thanks Paul! Moreover, I have updated our flow system and applied it to not only Lindy Hop, but Charleston, Balboa, Shag, and Basic Swing. It's all in the works right now, but the new system is super tight, more complete, and make the concept of flow insanely clear. Can't wait to roll it all out.
