Yes! everyone should be able to initiate & respond. Enough with traditional leading its boring & limiting and will never result in the best dance for both partners

I’ve come to enjoy conceptualizing the dance as a conversation, one person says something to start it off (the lead) and the other person responds (the follower), but then the first person has to adjust based on that input or pushback and so on. It takes two to carry on a conversation so each side is equally as important in shaping the direction of it and it is good playing around with being the initiator or responder.

Yes and vice versa. Just makes you a better dancer when you know what the other person is thinking.

As a leader and as long as I am starting dance as follower, I am very very interested to get in to this concept of "setting up environment" in order to suggest the leader what and how to lead. Any tips? Thank you, Sara!

Well, how does it feel to be a follower, Lorenzo? Do you feel as if you got to have a saying in what your partner does, or do you feel as if you can close your eyes and surrender your body in order to enrich someone else's interpretation? Do you have a need to prove you are equal to your partner, or do you become the extention of his/ her body? In conclusion, arent leaders following the music,hence followers themselves? Look, you can add sexism to a dance, this does not define the dance, but rather , the one that adds sexism with the mask of equality.
