I remembered this bumper when I was in a young boy because I remember watching a movie called dark Knight of the scarecrow which aired on that network over 40 years ago because I remember before they played the movie, they’ve aired this bumper and then the trailer behind the movie before it even starts.

As of 12/6/24, I saw The Last Days of Patton with George C. Scott, which aired on this network on this exact season on Sunday September 14, 1986. I've also seen the 1970 Theatrical Prequel also with Scott in his Titular Role; thus Completing the George C. Scott Patton Franchise.

Prior to WVNS in the Bluefield-Beckley market affiliating with CBS back in 2001. WOWK in the Huntington-Charleston market served as the default CBS affiliate for the Beckley side of the market while WDBJ in Roanoke-Lynchburg served the Bluefield side.

I got to tell you fellas that the promos & idents used for WTOP-TV (then WDVM-TV, soon to be WUSA, channel 9, CBS affiliate in Washington, DC) is the first 3D styled instance in USA history (or actually the world as I can say). Designed by Bob Klein & Bob Abel, those kind of promos & idents are... THE BEST OF ALL TIMES IN MY HISTORY!!! However, due to the same graphics for channel 9, WJXT (channel 4, independent station in Jacksonville, Florida) also used this from 1974 to 1980. The slogan for channel 9 is "The One & Only TV-9", which was syndicated to any other television station in the country. Even for that, channel 9's slogan is surviving 2 callsign changes, from WTOP-TV to WDVM-TV & WDVM-TV to the present day WUSA (-TV).

Also . . . does anyone know on the '66 WINS ad the voice heard starting at 3:36, 3:52, 3:59 and 4:02? No doubt a very early voice . . . and I thought I detected Allen Shaw at 3:28 and 3:57. I know their ID changed over the years . . . as of 1966 (but definitely 1969), it was "This is WINS, New York, Group W, Westinghouse Broadcasting, for New York, New Jersey and Connecticut." Certainly by 1970-71, it had to have been "This is 1010, WINS, New York, Group W, Westinghouse Broadcasting, serving New York, New Jersey and Connecticut."
