I really want to share my expenrience with everyone whose kids struggle with dyslexia! I am a mom of an 8 years old boy, he has got dyslexia, as we recently got to know. Of course, I started to research all over the internet, the communities, the programs which might help to overcome the issue so he doesn’t struggle in school and we tried this program called Grafari (by Constructor Tech). They are’t very popular, as the app is designed specifically for dyslexia kids, the app isn’t colorful like many other applications hence it doesnt irriate the adhd or dyslexia struggling kids. Long story short, I have been seeing a huge progress lately, and can’t be happier, as I thought dyslexia is gonna affect my kid and he will be lauphed at but things look much brighter now

Please Help Cornell! I have set up a fundraiser to help my friend Cornell Amerson, who is in danger of freezing to death in Detroit this winter due to the Detroit Utilities cutting off his electricity! Cornell is a lovely person that really needs help, due to a learning disability he finding this hardship really difficult to navigate himself. Please read my appeal, it includes a video of Cornell’s art, and drawings which remarkably he has done with just a 2B pencil. I provide links below to learn more about Cornell in the past and a link to his Book, The Janitor’s Secret, which he wrote in better times, 2009, to bring greater awareness of this problem. Any questions please ask, it’s bitterly cold in Detroit in winter without heat to boil a kettle or cook some food. Please give if you can or share if you can and help Cornell get through the next 2 years when he gets his pension gofund.me/6143d30d

Today in the most indirect direct method, being that through a song on the internet, a statement which stated that.... ( I think the whole world is porn. ) was enacted. To which I replied on my head first, and now on this comment, through an equally direct indirect direct displayed answer, by and of another song. ( No I do not think the whole world is porn. I think the whole world is f u. ) which was the title of the other song, on the same linear scrolling display. That is dyslexia for me. ( I wanted to comment on the main stream Media, but I will be satisfied knowing the direct indirect method will be applied in this instance also. )

18:24 I've read something similar about *the real preparation for students' long-term success was not about perfect or rigid instruction but in providing stable assurance of being loved.* Thirty years later, those students had higher measures of happiness and success across career and relationships. To be a teacher in these times can seem downright impossible with the many pulls and pushes from so many sources that basically expect the perfect amalgam at every turn to deal with the intense variety of needs and variability of resources, including just being an imperfect human being. *Speaking from a U.S. perspective

I'm 55 years old. I was told at the age of 9, I had 2 speeds. Dead slow or stop. The whole class laughed. From that point on I felt separated and lost from any education. I was tested for dyslexia Irlen syndrome at the age of 40. And to my relief it was confirmed. It was also suggested that I could be ADHD. Which I also have been convinced of too. But to all of those that put me down for it. And tried to make it an issue. I'd just like to say. I made it without you. And proudly own the fact that I'm dyslexic, Irlen syndrome and ADHD. I own it. Now you need to do it too. I went through school and

The first 1.5 minutes of this video were very upsetting to me at 73 years old. That first minute of reading the book opened old memories that were buried very very deep. I made a good living as an EE with my name at least patent 10 patents. I did contract work for Intel fab5, techtronics, US National Resources and the biggest job was for Lamb Weston. I bet most of you have NEVER heard of them :) They make 80% of McDonald's french fries. My point of this post is if you or one of yours are dislexic, remember NOTHING IS OUTSIDE your REACH, NOTHING.

I failed maths 5 times. Not 1 teacher helped me with that. So at 62 with the government bringing in laws to say no one can study to be a teacher without maths. I work 1-1 with dyslexic and adhd young people. I got C s and a degree in English, politics and child development. I do ok

I, so many times, would be instructed by the principal or the superintendent telling mr that they wanted this kid (with LHand dyslexia) to copy information from the white board; my answer "he can't read" and to learn the history lesson from the textbook; my answer "he can't read (the text book); and do his homework assignments: my answer "he can't read (the homework assignment) . It was so frustrating!! I wanted that student or students for more hours for reading information and those (idiot) administrators refused flat that advice! I conceived that school administrators are not concerned for children education; they prioritize the education system under two categories; politics (the impression others think about the school) and money (keep kids in special education because that's were the big dollars are) politics and money that it. That explains school administrator behavior; that it. Very sad and real!

Your not have dyslexic do you! Out of focus? No words are "out of focus" on the board!! No! It no a vision problem omg. I could clear up these nuerotypical radom access information learners misconceptions. There's not enough time or space to discuss this properly.
@eldonjanzen98229 ай бұрын
"No one aware of it...(dyslexia)???" I could not hide my poor reading and spelling from my friends!!!! Or especially the bullies. Hiding is not the answer!!! The solution was to recognize that difference are good not bad. That stems from cultural attitudes.
@eldonjanzen98229 ай бұрын
When I was going through elementary and high school, I worked very hard to mask my dyslexia so I didn't get tested because once labeled and placed in special education classes I knew that I would get so far behind in my academic studies that I would not accomplish the state requirements to enter the public college system. I understood this even in 7th grade!! I also knew that there as no intelligent reading program used in the school system of that time. (Now i know that "Reading Mastery" is a superior scriped direct instruction program and the solution to teaching reading but few teachers could teach it properly in the 1970s when the state of California kicked out direct instruction and replaced it with the unsuccessful wholistic learning approach that left millions of students illiterate!!)

Thank you, great documentary. A child of the 70's I wish the teachers knew I was dyslexic. I found out at 50 I am dyslexic, I was overjoyed with emotions . I struggled terribly at school. I had deep emotional scars during my adult life from my school years. (Bullying, low self-esteem and depression) Now I love Life ❤ and thank God for it made me a very strong person. 🙏

7 years ago. And for the last 3 years it is are you a boy or a girl or 1/2 . So many kids want to die. I am dyslexic. Growing up it was 365 days a year, Year after year. Abusive parent screaming at me How stupid dumb I was. I failed 1st grade, and was told my fault we had to move because I failed. I remember I wanted to see God. and attempted to jump off the Bluemoud Road bridge still being built. By luck a worker came back to get his tools and caught me dangling from a bolt. I was smart enough to run the other direction from home. Otherwise everyone would have know. School and then home all those years. FOOD poor diet. Fed Gerber Baby food still at age 6. Nutrition I think has some impact with more than ever

For me before I left for school I would hear how stupid, dumb I was. than at school I would hear the words again when the Teacher would use some of as Examples, and that at recess, and again when I got home. 365 days, everyday, Day after day. Failed First grade and was told we had to Move all because I FAILD. THAT IS A LIFE A Dyslexia Child growing up in an abusive HOME. at school and home again YEAR after year. I six when after failing, tried to jump off the Bluemound Bridge, that was not completed . A worker happened to come back to collect some tools, saw my daggling caught on a bolt. Thankfully I was smart enough to run a different direction home. Or everyone would know who.

I was diagnosed at 16 with dyslexia in the seventies. I still struggle. I relate to the struggles expressed in this documentary. I found my learning style as an adult. I have always been good with my hands. Sewing drawing or crocheting help me focus. I'm blessed with a husband who loves loves to read and he often reads to me With a project in my hands my mind is a sponge I wish that back in the days of my early schooling this learning style had been recognized. Thanks for your efforts to help educators understand how they can help their students with dyslexia

I’m am currently struggling with my 12 year olds school to uphold his IEP for dyslexia. We need more help for parents to advocate for our children. But we the school system and administrative will run right over you and not provide a structured literacy program. Even though it’s in this IEP. It’s disheartening how are education. System is constantly failing our children.

As a dyslexic person, I find videos such as this "snake oil🎉." Here is "the long and the shot.😅😅😅😅😅" Use the technology at your disposal and if you can use the accommodation they must give you, do it. Lastly, when studying for a test come up with crazy, dirty, and funny things to remember. Your ability is visual. Think of it this way, they give people that learn an aviation map and they give us auto map. If all the work was visual they need accommodation. So f#ck'em. Here's real life example from the 3 grade. My vocabulary had the word "bountiful." I couldn remember for nothing. My dad told me, "Our neighbors has got some big ass titties. Now think of the word "bountiful" connected to some freshly glazed titti jizzed on.
