Brilliant! We all need material like this! Well done for a documentary, at least, but not last, in Spanish!!! I am a mother of a dyslexic adult, now, lead an association for dyslexia in Spain, a special coordinator for SLD and are still trying to make a change in a country where we are 30 or 40 years, still, ahead from other countries in these issues. I am absolutely passionate about dyslexia and believe in people with dyslexia, because they are so smart and it's them who have to bring up understanding for all people who do not understand why they simply process things differently!

Dyslexia is not bad people think that just because we have dyslexia doesn't mean we can't live normal fun lifestyles People with dyslexia are more creative It's not a disability, disability means unable and we can do things and learn it just takes time and people who say they would hate to have dyslexia no one cares I have dyslexia and so does my mom and sister and we can do so much

More creative? then who? most persons with dyslexia would even land a job that was considered "creative" and get payed a descent wage. give me a break, stop fooling yourself, dyslexia is a curse not a gift!!!

I always had trouble in math but other classes I got good grades. I was so upset at my self about it I am in high school now and I have a really hard time with math I felt stupid. Because it wouldn't stick in my head math to me sounded like a foreign language. I wrote my multpications over and over made recording of myself repeating it so I can stick to me but it didn't work I didn't understand why. I don't know how to do math because I don't know how to divide because I can't multiply I can't memorize them. And it's so embarrassing I take care of my little cousin sometimes and he is in school and he asked me if I could help him with his elementary homework and I couldn't help him cause it flew over my head. I just moved with my grandparents and I told them about it and we seen a doctor and I have math dyslexia I have a hard time with numbers any kind clocks, money and other but I want to be better so I'm trying my best I am getting a tutor. To any one out there that feels dumb your not its just sometimes are harder to do for others

For me before I left for school I would hear how stupid, dumb I was. than at school I would hear the words again when the Teacher would use some of as Examples, and that at recess, and again when I got home. 365 days, everyday, Day after day. Failed First grade and was told we had to Move all because I FAILD. THAT IS A LIFE A Dyslexia Child growing up in an abusive HOME. at school and home again YEAR after year. I six when after failing, tried to jump off the Bluemound Bridge, that was not completed . A worker happened to come back to collect some tools, saw my daggling caught on a bolt. Thankfully I was smart enough to run a different direction home. Or everyone would know who.

I HAVE A REALLY BAD (sos caps) disslexia sometimes the words go upside down and backwards but i dont tell my mom that incase she worries

+Jack Playsgamez, I second Rj Pena. (I'm a former special education teacher, by the way.) Your mom will worry regardless. The difference is that if you don't tell her, she will worry because if she sees you struggling, she won't know what is wrong and will worry about all the many things it could be. But if you tell her, she'll worry that you are dyslexic, which is easier, because she now knows what the problem is. Think of it like this: if you have an illness and you don't tell your parents because they might worry, they will still probably see that you are sick. They will just fret over what might be wrong with you. But if you tell them what illness you have, then and only then can they and you take steps to 'get better.'

Teacher Education in College is the key to helping students with dyslexia learn to read! The book, Recipe for Reading, helped me to substantially help students with dyslexia begin reading. I combined Recipe for Reading lessons with Making Words, by Patricia Cunningham, and phonetic readers. A child can simply gain the confidence to decode words by beginning with 3 letters and going from there!

I recently confirmed that my 11 year old son has dyseidesia dyslexia, and phonetic reading can help. I am fortunate to have a teacher that wants to help and learn as much as she can. I looked up the Recipe for Reading book on Amazon and saw that there were a lot of them to choose from. do you suggest a certain one?
@jaclynparis501710 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeff! I learned from what I think is the original one. www.amazon.com/Recipe-Reading-Revised-Expanded-Traub/dp/0838805051/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1415398896&sr=1-1&keywords=recipe+for+reading I made my own index cards, had a pizza tray of sand and the children would learn to write on paper too. Each lesson has an easy structure to follow. You'll also want to pair it with phonetic readers or short little books that are based on the same vowel or consonant sounds the child is learning so that reading is always a successful experience. You may want to look into the workbooks Recipe for Reading offers as I'm sure they're sequence corresponds with the original book! Good Luck!

embracing Dyslexia???? I have Dyslexia (I have to look up that word each time I have to spell it) there is no embracing it, it is a curse. listen to the children that were interviewed! It pretty obvious. It is absolutely not a gift or something that is good for students!. Special education teachers don't have dyslexia. they have "normal brains" with the other 110% of college professors, and college students that don't have that problem. so why talk about something that no one has? It is very rear that dyslectics would be able to pass the entrance exams for most colleges (even junior colleges) much less graduate and qualify for a teaching credentialing program or get hired as a teacher!!!!
