Sadly Via Moto in Sheffield have moved premises and dropped their Piaggio franchise (including Moto Guzzi). Great bike (I have one myself) but you won't get one from Via Moto iirc.

I bought a 4 year old Tec Max 560 because I have a twenty year old Tmax 500. Never let me down. Unfortunately I can’t say that with this four year old 560cc Tmax! Very expensive maintenance, and with the electronic trotting it’s not very reliable. Intermittent issues with acceleration below 4000 revs, can’t get it sorted. SoI have decided to move on to its smaller brother, with a single cylinder more conventional valve system. The Tmax has a double overhead cam system which is expensive to maintain. Cheers.

I watched this years ago before I bought my gen 2 1290 Superduke. I thought the same as you, before I rode it. I absolutely adore my KTM (which I traded a Tuono 1100 Factoty for), but when I tried this thing, it blew me away. It’s slightly more mental than the Superduke IMO. Im not saying it’s faster, or more capable in the corners. It’s just scarier, as it’s got almost the same amount of torque but it has ferocious mid range. Here I am now, trading my tricked out Ktm, for this exact bike that you are riding. Not because it’s cheaper, it scares the shit out of me and Is incredible fun. It’s just the bollocks!! And that’s what Im all about!!

I have a 2017 model, had it since new and really happy with it. I don't understand why people would complain about the fuel consumption, it is a commercial vehicle. Anyway I'm also ok with that. Had a fair bit of rain here lately and I've experienced more than the usual front wheel judder under acceleration. Did fit new tyres a year ago.

Thanks for sharing mate! This is a really cool vid and that helps new guys like me to make a more informed decision when spending money. Just one question, when editing you can merge the thow sounds right? i mean the sound inside your helmet and the sound of the zoom mic that is recording the exhaust? somehow find the sweet spot where you can have a "clean" voice and also a nice exhaust sound....best of both worlds :)

Hello. A few days ago I bought a new Honda Forza (2024) 750, of course with a dct transmission. Excellent bike, but it's unusual for me when I'm driving around town, how often it changes gears (in standard mode) and that "cluck" gearbox sound annoys me a bit. I guess I'll get used to it, I guess that's how it should be. 🤷♂️

Lol... lead foot... I get 39-40 average. The door needing to be opened to reach the fuel cap is to deter fuel theft. A ctr. tie-down would been a chassis rail or something to fix to so you didn't rip the floor up with your ratchet straps. My personal 'gripe' is the stupid directional spot lights that come on when you turn either left or right 😂

It seems like triples are the best compromise. Flat torque line and high rpm power...just with slightly less of each. I've heard they are also smooth, but I've only ridden a single cylinder supermoto, so I don't know.

A really great review and a good watch. I’ve watched a lot of your vids over the last few years and still get my kicks from Sportsbikes. I love Panigale’s and RSV4’s but I’m so warming to these modern retro’s. Like you say it’s not all about 195 BHP and getting your knee down. I so need to ride one of these Nortons after watching your vid. What a gorgeous bike. Next year I’ll sure be looking at buying a modern retro. A Commando, Thruxton or even a Kwacker Z900RS. How about doing a vid reviewing those 3 for a retro road test? 👍🏻

I have owned this 300cc MP3 for a few thousand kilometers now. You can forget 88 miles per gallon. Driving on different types of roads, my best fuel economy result is a total of 62 miles/gallon. That's slightly better than my city car. (50m/g) or the Honda ST1100 (51m/g) that I owned before buying the MP3. I'm an older man, 72 years old, so I don't drive around town like a crazy person. In city traffic, the MP3 is easier to handle than my car of ST and you can find many more free parking spaces than for a car. I don't use the foot brake, it's just an annoying thing that gets in the way of my right foot. I rode the ST1100 for 6 years as a commuter bike, summer and winter. I don't do that with the MP3 because it is much colder than riding the Honda. It could be a little better if I were to put up a high screen for a lot of money. I live in the Netherlands near Amsterdam, for your orientation.
