I remember back in the seventies or eighties a small boat company had those side stabilizers. Think it was Coleman canoe and Scanoe boat. They were made of ram x plastic and stabilizers were solid foam. Closed cell foam. GREAT IDEA!!! I think I’ll put them on a canoe👍 Always were a PFD if your an older fella like myself it’s your best protection from drowning.

I love my KLR, and my other Kawasaki motorcycles I've had in the past, but their warranty service sucks. It took them a while to adjust this, then it started doing it again. Also, on a 6 day road trip it started leaking oil from the base gasket. I took it in when i got back with oil all over it and the dealer kept saying they don't know where it's coming from. Drove it and still didn't know where it was coming from. they kept my bike for over a month saying they were trying to get the warranty department to let them replace the base gasket. I called the warranty dep personally and they said they have no record of the dealership contacting them. The called the dealership and they fed the same crap to the warranty department. Now i had both warranty department and dealership giving me the same bull crap. In the end i picked up my bike with no resolution from the matter. The dealerships suck and so does kawasaki warranty. Great idea. What if instead of putting it above the side rib on the boat it was placed under that rib. Would that not help eliminate some of the instability? If the floats were lower it might not have as much tilt before the stabilizers actually do their job. Just spitballing ideas. The wife and I went out yesterday and I got my babtism in 30ft of water when it rolled to one side and dumped my fat ass overboard. And of course, she only weighs about a buck twenty so there was no getting back in the boat because she doesn't weigh enough to hold down the other side while I get back in. Had to old on to the boat while she trolled back to where I could touch.

@@TimCoble-l6w I’m glad y’all are OK. You are absolutely correct about putting the the stabilizers below the rib. It would be doing its job at all times that way. I put it above the rib just in case I wanted to put an outboard motor on it. Having it above the rib was to have less drag. I have videos where I made stabilizers on another boat (v-hull) and having them just touch the water allows good speed and the stabilizers only work when they are needed. You should check them out. Basically it’s just above the water line with just the motor. It drops down a little when you get in. I did it this way to get the best of both worlds. I may do that on another video. I keep putting them higher up to keep from having the stabilizers ploughing through the water. Trying to get the best of both worlds. I do need to experiment with mounting some lower so that they are working full time rather than just when the boat is leaning to one side. I do think that it could possibly risk a false sense of security though, creating a tipping point (or a fast tip spot) once the stabilizer is so far down in a lean. Higher up, you have a clear reference point being the water line. Good ideas. Thank you for the input.

Have the same issue on mine, a 2023 I bought as a showroom leftover. Having vague steering feels like a flat tire at low speeds. put bike on stand and can feel notchy resistance throughout the turning cycle. Called the shop where I bought it and they "never heard of steering issues" but told me bring it in and they look at it.... well that's over an hour away and having them tell me they "never heard of the issue" does not inspire me to get a proper fix, let alone the time to travel back and forth, and the minimum 2 week lead time. Considering just doing this myself or replacing bearings all together, less time than loading up and hauling bike both ways. Kawasaki needs to acknowledge this is/was an issue.
@wisdomandthewoods7422
@wisdomandthewoods7422 2 ай бұрын
At this point, any dealership who says that they have never heard about this issue is full of crap in my opinion. Join any KLR group on Facebook or elsewhere and you’ll see countless people who have new bikes with this problem. People have been messaging Kawasaki for almost 2 years and they have yet to do a recall. I loved my 2023 KLR650s once I fixed the steering issue and I had added a lot of aftermarket accessories beforehand. But when Kawasaki continued to refuse to do the recall knowing full well that they were putting people’s lives at risk (mine almost steered me into oncoming traffic while creeping up to make a left turn) I sold mine and won’t ever have another Kawasaki product until/ unless they do the recall. I now have a Royal Enfield Himalayan and a Honda Rancher. I paid Cash for the KLR and lost about 3K when I sold it but I just can’t support a company that doesn’t care about their customer’s safety or their lives for that matter. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching. Be careful out there.

Is this the reason I feel like it wants to "steer off" at slow speeds?? I swear I feel it and its worse on dirt and I've had a 2022 klr basic model before I got a 2023 adventure abs model and I didn't have no problems steering with the basic model at all. It goes away at higher speeds but as soon as I slow down it's there again. Everything is tightened to spec, wheel is true, tire is still stock but nothing wrong, even the spokes are tightened to spec. Either that or I slipped into another universe while asleep before I upgraded, I could swear on my life something was off!

This is exactly what so many people have experienced and are still dealing with. Kawasaki has lost my respect and my business by ignoring this problem. Yes at low speed slowing down to make a left turn my 2023 KLR 650S almost “steered or darted me into an oncoming car. Dealer said there was no problem with the bike, had two mechanics ride it too. Apparently they were not bright or not honest. I now own a Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle and a Honda rancher 4 wheeler.
