Never seen shawshank but I visitied Zihuatenejo in 1998 with my friend. Probably did quite a few things there back then that would definitely not be safe to do now. But had a great time.

There’s no way we’d see something like this in the USA-what a breathtaking event in Bangkok! Thailand is truly unique in preserving its ancient heritage and bringing it forward for today’s generation. Such beautiful art and craftsmanship! Thank you, as always, for providing not just good but truly exceptional content.

Wow! Thanks So much! What a compliment! It’s true. They have thousands of years of history and culture that developed from even older peoples. This event was 700 years of tradition. It was truly amazing to experience. I even saw the king and queen! They waved!!!! 😆 Thank you again for your support

You are so lucky to witness the procession. I live 6 hours away from Bangkok, so it makes the trip complicated for me. The royal barges are maintained so well and restored often. The song that royal navy singing while paddling the barge, Thai students have to study and learn how to sing in Thai lesson, very difficult for me. Hence, listening live must give audiences, especially the goosebumps.

Festival influenced from india 2 solar and lunar calendar festivals in one event from the word Mesha Sangkranti (April full moon) but in Thailand used the word “Songkran” with its unique cultures and activities unlike other country, to celebrate Thai ancient new year, play water spalashing, family assembling, merit making and more. 😊

Offering Kathin robes after the end of Buddhist Lent. That happens every year according to Buddhist principles. This year is a big one with a royal ceremony because the King has completed his 6th birthday.
