IMO GT5's Suzuki Alto was THE face of that generation (alongside THAT screenshot from the Uncharted).

wait wait wait... hold up... you're actually arguing that adding micro transactions and an unbelievable grind to acquire all the cars was NOT about making money from whales? are you absolutely sure about that sir?
@cho4d47 минут бұрын
pretty much all your arguments come down to "none of this makes me want to spend money". well, that's because they're incompetent. being incompetent and trying to make bank of whales are not mutually exclusive properties

As a professional software developer (admittedly in the realm of US DoD IT secutity, not gaming), here's a theory why endurance events have become so rare: requirements. specifically, testing requirements. Modern software development is a much more structured and formalized (and documented) process than it was ten (or more) years ago. The Polyphony team may have contractual requirements to test each new event or feature they add -- that means paying testers for the 24 hours it takes to complete these longer races. Add into this problem the concept of regression testing -- any update that affects the game as a whole (such as changes to their physics model, which they've done several times over the GT7 lifespan so far) would require what's called a "regression test", where ALL PREVIOSLY-DEFINED GAMEPLAY TESTS are performed again, in order to uncover any unforeseen side effects of the underlying changes. That would include the endurance race tests. This means the Endurance races aren't just a matter of moving some sliders and defining some variables -- they would increase development and release costs in perpetuity, consuming resources at a level outsized to their overall contribution to the value they provide to the bulk of their player base. Or maybe they just don't care. Who's to say.

Vision is the worst BS. It's lazy and a poor excuse for content.

Honestly the last section could lead into a video of its own: an analysis of fictional cars throughout the series. Furthermore, some of GT's LM Editions are pure fantasy for PD to fill in gaps in the upper end of some makes' lineups , like the Mitsubishi LM Editions in GT1

Can i just say that PD understands *perfectly* why people make car collections. Unfortunately they also see other games making unfathomable profits from worthless cosmetics. And their eyes are green. From now on GT is just going to be about trying to bleed fans for money until it has no fans and is dead. And they probably wont even stop there. There are ton of dead games that still exist because of a handfull of whales.

The goodwood festival of speed is easy, until the flipping Red bull car. Took me 4 hours on controller to beat it. Single handedly made me purchase a g29 wheel.

I found the ZZ2 on the used car lot of gt5, unknowing of its potential. I went to gt6 soon after and bought the ZZ2 and love it. For a while it was my unobtainable dream car, knowing only the 1 existed. Wish it was more abundant but o-well. Ill keep racing it in GT6 I suppose.

Only started GT7 about a month ago and basically nothing has changed. The lack of races is still a problem because if you want to drive a certain car there's a 90% chance it won't fit a single actual race event outside of sunday cup where there are no restrictions but the cars are all slower than walking pace. That means your only option is to build it for WTC 600, 700 or 800. Just three events all with fairly high strict PP limits, want to drive your favourite car but it's anywhere from 0 - ~580PP? Shit out of luck, your only choice is to play a custom race for almost no money.

The bad looking texture on the Suzuki is an example, take the australian Ford Falcon , which is the pale copy of the missing european Mondeo (for no reason) the stickers on the Falcon GT5 are worse than on GT3 and 4 ! Too much pixels, come on, guys...

I feel like GT7's manufacturer invitations are worse, because I don't have 4 million credits to buy a Veneno. And when the invitation is your gift compared to the chance of a Veyron or 1 million credits in the same draw, it kinda makes it even worse.

Personally, since I started playing on GT Sport and never encountered these YET, it would have to be the 962C in GT7 for the Master IA-10 license, due to its understeer, and the time being too low. Even getting bronze took me way too many hours.

The bit about the Chaparral 2J going in reverse reminded me of that one episode of Tooned when Hamilton and Button decided to race in reverse after having been told that the reverse gear had no limiter! Oh, and Lightning McQueen going backwards past the opposition in Cars.

34:15 I actually got a genetic 1:64 (Hot Wheels sized) version of that car, and a 1:24 version of the races/confetti caked version of the car. It was my favorite throwback of that weekend because of how much Gran Turismo has meant to me over the years
