Good video. Please define “bidirectional“. Thanks!

Hi David! Ah yes dbi-irectional means you can send commands to the vehicle as opposed to just reading from it. Here is a good choice if you just need reading capabilities kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmnLmWiQisuZsJo Cheers!

Great review! I'm looking of getting a scanner and this Thinkscan looks really nice I'm also looking at the LAUNCH X431 PRO Elite, FOXWELL NT809TS and the Autel MaxiCOM MK808BT. Any advice from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you S! Ah unfortunately I have not reviewed the scanners you mentioned so I can't speak on their performance or how they compare to the 689BT. I will see if we can add them to the list of scanners to review (list is getting longer by the day! LOL) In the mean time, the X431 is a very capable scanner and will likely have more addons available for it and if you need OBD support this one does have it kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6Lae5-LeryBb6M Cheers!

@@AlexAutoFun So how would you compare the Launch and the Thinkscan? I’m really not sure what I should get.
@AlexAutoFun21 сағат бұрын
Hi S! It's going to come down to what the scanner will be used for and what vehicle(s) it will be connected to (basically which communication protocols are needed, specially important if you need CAN-FD or DOIP support). So I would start by checking to see if your vehicle(s) are on the list of supported vehicles, then checking if the function you need is supported by the scanner. Then I would consider any special features like, AutoAuth SGW, free updates or subscription based, what addons are supported, if you need OBD support and and finally you would want to consider price etc. Cheers!

@@AlexAutoFunGood advice. Thank you. I’m a DIY guy that wants a good all around scanner that will allow me to troubleshoot and repair. In the last 25 plus years, I’ve only brought 2 vehicles in for repair once each. I’m looking for the best all around scanner in the $500-$600 range. There are some good choices out there. Thanks again for the advice and info.
