Whilst I understand that for many, fishing is their livelihood, I can't understand how there are any fish left in the oceans any more after all this intensive fishing. It has to stop.

Trawling should be forbidden. The method catches everything in it's way, small fish and other non-commercial species, so vast amounts of the catch is thrown back dead. Most fish are dead when pulled out of the water, dead by being squeezed, by suffication, Bottom trawlers destroy the bottom habitat for years or forever.

I worked in Alaska for almost 10 years. Factory superintendent on several now extinct vessels. We did 100 tons and one time we did 110 tons. 200 tons is mind-boggling. Well done Northern eagle.

Innuit haven't been there for 4500 years. They arrived in Greenland shortly after the time the Vikings did, about a thousand years ago. Those were ancestors of the modern Inuit and known as the Thule. Because the Thule/Inuit had better tech then the Dorset, notably fishing and hunting techniques, they replaced them throughout Artic Canada. I.E. outlived them and killed them.

Worked on a longline boat in Kodiak Alaska in 1981 as a nineteen year old. 4 week long halibut season that year. Worked 20 hours a day. Very crude, old fashioned manual labor conditions compared to this high tech vessel. It was a small boat -- only three men. Worked mainly cutting bait (the miscellanous stuff caught and not wanted like eels and bullheads -- put right back on the lines as bait) and gutting the fish (it was very weird to see half digested king crab as I pulled it out of the gullet) before stuffing with ice. But also worked as the gaffer. I would like to say it was a glorious time. But the non-stop work and stress of gaffing halibut with 15 inch long steel hooks just before they broke surface of the water was INTENSE. F@ck up and you ruin the meat of the fish or worse yet, the damaged fish somehow shakes loose and is lost to the deep. The boat captain eventually became a Kodiak high-liner (ie, top yielding boat) with a huge vessel but this was his humble start.

great video, really loved the insight into the Bugatti production process! it’s fascinating to see such craftsmanship. but honestly, do we really need cars that cost over a million dollars? feels a bit excessive when there are so many pressing issues in the world. what do you all think?

11:16 by shaving off 1mm of aluminum they will save 350kg.. until it cracks during the turbulence which wasn't predicted in their calculations. then they will revert back to original design. meanwhile, the fat cat bosses already received big bonuses for savings, environment friendly, etc...

I worked for this company and was on the Bristol leader. My first rotation I did 3 trips back to back, which meant staying out at sea with offloads between each trip in Dutch for 4 and a half months. I dipnetted through one of the worst storms in Bering sea history that year, we had a guy break his leg who got slammed by a huge wave. I would always duck down right against the wall and lean as far as against it with all my weight and never got lifted up, just soaked. Was a wild time I’ll tell you. The shifts were 18 hrs long after a while guys start to lose it. But it’s a great company you do make good money out there too I didn’t make no 15k per trip though.

I fished out of Dutch back in 89/90, our fleet was a bunch of rust pirates and safety was basically nil, the Aleutian Enterprise was part of our fleet to make a great example, it sank a month after I got home. these huge boats make way more money than the boast we were on, I enjoyed working up on deck, working in the factory was shit, It makes you appreciate all the things you take for granted when back at home and an 8 hour work day is nothing, imagine working as hard as you can for 72 hours straight, only getting a few breaks to eat. I'd work for people and they'd be amazed how hard and fast I'd work and not taking a break, or lunch, I still do all these years later and my own clients all think I haul ass. Those boats should be outlawed. Nothing good comes from them, they rape the seas and ocean floor.

My cat is VERY interested and HIGHLY motivated to work on the Northern Leader. He says you don't have to pay him. He claims he just wants the experience, and that's all. I feel that it's my responsibility to warn you that you may find that your catch is mysteriously disappearing in the dark of the night. Good luck

Problem with fish harvesting, well then stop eating fish or fish byproducts including the fish itself, fish cod liver oil , vitamins, makeup products, sun screen products, fertilizer to grow food products. Don't be un educated of all that the fishing industry provides!! !!! Even if you are a vegetarian --- fish items make your so called "OH I DON'T EAT ANIMALS" CHECK your labels of / suppliers of sorceress. Education is the key. You KNUCKLE HEAD!!!!!!
