Ok, a lot of info, all good stuff. I only have experience with pretty old optics. Learned to zero at 300 and never adjust anything but your hold. So I will now dip my toe into 5.56 and LPVO. Thanks for posting.

Iron sights: My AK-47, I zero at 25 meters, which will give me 6" window at 300 meters for a start with 124gr bullets. Now if it is my AR-15 with 16", I zero at 25 yards, which will give me 6" window at 300 yards for a start with 62gr bullets. For home protection I zero at 10 yards with open or optic sights.

there is no zero that gives you a "6" window" out of a 5.56 with any grain bullet out to 300 yards with any inch barrel. A 62gn bullet zeroed at 25m is 5" high at 100yards, crests at around 6" high at 150yards, is 5" high at 200 yards and between 5 to 6" low at 300. That's a "12" window". I'd have to look it up to be a little more accurate with the numbers, but this is the Army zero and I know it well. It's not a bad zero, it's been used for years. However, if you run that zero to 36yards you're 2" high at 100yards, crest at 2.5" at 125yards, are around 1/2 inch low at 200 yards (giving you a 3" window out to 200 yards) and 13" low at 300 yards. In the civilian world justifying a shot at 300 yards is kinda tough. I like the smaller working window of 3" of the 36yard zero out to 200 as opposed to the all 5ish inch high to 200 25meter zero.

Thanks for the video, I had the same issue, changed the extractor for a volquartsen one, polished the chamber in the same way you did. Since then the gun runs smooth as butter, no more extractor malfunction. 👍

You mean a light cover? Mine are a pretty tight fight, are you sure you ordered/received the right model? There are a bunch, a wrong mouse scroll after selecting and you get the wrong item. Happened to me with an order I wanted and selected black, and then scrolled it down to OD green and didn't catch it.

Psa is honestly a mid tier rifle for a budget price due to no middle man.
@GunGuyOK

@@Jared-l7o I’m honestly bored with the “tier” grading of rifles based on cost instead of performance. And to say “PSA”… PSA builds dirt cheap guns, and they build “top tier” guns that will compete with anything on the market, they just aren’t $350 bucks.
@Jared-l7o
@Jared-l7o 12 күн бұрын
@@GunGuyOK I kinda agree and kinda don't. Bear creek is certainly low tier. However I has a psa I built out with premium components where it matters (barrel, bcg, trigger, adj gas block, hydralic buffer) and duty/budget grade components where it doesn't. Shoots just as accurately and much smoother than any bcm or noveske that I have owned or shot. 5k ish rounds mostly of whatever I could find that was cheap. Though plenty of premium as well. Only malfunctions I have had were intentionally induced in training or tuning the gas. I wouldn't hesitate to take it into a gun fight. For a less than 1200 dollar (including optic, light, and sling) rifle, it is phenomenal.

This was a great educational video, however after watching the different sections a few different times, I still do not understand how the BDC Range Yards were calculated with a standard ballistics calc. The recommended app shows the values already calculated, however this app is no longer available.

I just took the sig 1-10 out to 400 for the first time and I instantly hated it. The exit pupil is tiny, and I couldn't get the target and the reticle crisp enough. I quite literally have clearer glass in a Bushnell 22lr scope that got for 60 bucks on amazon. I too came home and cranked out a dope chart with strelock and figured out the that not just the diopter and glass are trash, the reticle is aslo trash. Hows you need to always take your gear out and verify at distance.

If i was to take an educated guess I would say the reticle is based on the SPEAR weapon systems. I say that because the Tango MSR is the civilian/budget version of the Tango 6T, which was supposed to be the companion optic for the SPEAR weapon systems.

@GunGuyOK most recently AK GF5 (head space issue or bolt), Jalk was rusted out of the box (would not run after sent it back; adjustable gas would not work....tried both that they give you), BCG grenade at 2k rounds (replaced under warranty), dagger extractor broke (would not cycle after), I got a Blem SIG MCX LT when (returned), ordered 300 blkout....got 6.5 creedmore (not complaining), EOTECH XPS 3, a "premium" upper that was 3 different colors, (Blue, black, grey). Sent a complete lower with a stock instead of a pistol brace, maxed out windage on an AR upper, canted sites on another AK. I like PSA.... It's hard to trust QC on them. I have multiple lowers, uppers, and great deals on other products. Maybe in the last 2/3 years, I've been unlucky.

For any coming here for instruction would be smart and get an understanding for how the USAMU match conditions the M16A4 for state of the art accuracy. You can get this info reading John Feamster’s book “Black Magic”. I have match conditioned at least a dozen iron sights AR’s for US Service Rifle Competition, which could deliver a half MOA from prone sling supported position and none of those followed any of the suggestions mentioned here. Bottom-Line is begin with a barrel produced by a known entity in the business of turning and chambering barrels, like Compass Lake Engineering, or White Oak Precision.

The optic is not pointed down ( the optic illumination is infinitely flat) the gun is pointed up, thus the bullet is rising due to the trajectory of the projectile ( no, the projectile does not have lift ).

My wife and her sister had listed stuff on Etsy. They are absolute thieves. They started a company called Chins&Things. "Chins" which was part of the name because we rescued two Chinchillas. We looked at wooden toys for them. They need them because their teeth constantly grow. The few toys we found were very expensive. We started making our own. We then decided to try selling them for less than the few options that were available. We found out quickly that Etsy is nothing but a way of getting robbed.

These guns are for basic training, plinking, and self defense. If you want sub MOA or if you’re into some specialized shooting, or if you’re going into an actual war where your in the jungle for weeks at a time engaged in firefights with the Vietcong, then MAYBE you need something better. But if you need just basic defense, or training, it’s all gonna come down to luck and skill. My palmettos have never failed me.

If you're using 1X and you are hyper analyzing the optic, you're doing it wrong. If you are in an environment where 1X is the appropriate choice and you are that sucked in to the optic, regardless of what optic it is, your dead. Biddon aiming, both eyes open, not even really looking through the optic intentionally, more like looking past it, and send it. Works fine on standard battle rifle and 6" plates at 100. In CQB, it's like playing a video game with a HUD, but there's no respawn.

I bought my first FFP horshoe dot magnified optic 20 years ago - it was the GRSC. I have been sold on them (FFP and a proper horshoe dot) since for a GP AR. I actually think the GRSC reticle is better than everything else. Unfortunately, it was never really ironed out with better than good glass. He sat on the design and wanted to do it himself, vs cobranding as Primary Arms did with the ACSS 13 years later.

Those dots on the side are wind holds lol, the ranged drops are for 5.56 and 308 mil spec ammo out it 800, the width are a man’s shoulders at the range of the drop,the arrows doing left and right of the dot are moving target holds for walking, running in full gear and lastly running all out unencumbered. I’m not making this up. Sig has multiple KZbin videos on the scopes explaining all of this, not to mention the numerous videos done by gun tubers that had sig people in the video with them.
