As a white dude, I actually didn't own many of Em's albums even though I did own a huge collection of rap and metal. I wouldn't say he's number one though he is definitely up there for lyricism (my favorite style of rap). I was in on mp3s and burning them to CDs before napster and the ipod though if I love the album, I bought it to support the artist. I feel like this song was purely to be nostalgic and to create press about the album. I feel like people forget what concept albums that tell a story from the start to end are like because what they've used to hearing for some time now. A lot of people have done this with brands before when they don't have shades for darker/lighter skin tones and they usually came out with darker/lighter shades but of course because she is white she isn't supposed to say anything. This was a pretty normal practice from what I have seen in the beauty community and have seen the people who run these brands say if we don't have a certain shade then let us know. I was under the impression that Fenty was all inclusive. Also she might be calling out Fenty because she prefers that brand over others and likes the quality of the products and would just like a shade she can use. This is a non-issue.
