That cookbook I think, was a copy of one of the many old Hungarian cookbooks from Transylvania from the 16-18th centuries, that survived until today.

You can ask all you want, but it does not mean that they will tell you the truth. They may tell you : you will be pruning grapes, but when you arrive they will tell you to move a 1,000 object. Imagine yourself in the middle of nowhere with no public transport and totally dependent on your mean host to get out of the damned place. Cannot emphasize enough the importance of having your own car when volunteering. If that is not possible, your next safest bet would be to accept invitations only from places, where public transport to the nearest train/bus hub is readily available, so you do not have to hike for miles in inclement weather in an unfamiliar area in order to get to it. It helps to have Plan B and Plan C, prior to going through with Plan A. A thing to remember is that 80% of your hosts are only interested in you as a free work horse. People like that generally do not tend to be nice.

I am a Software Developer from Fiji who graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Computing Science and Information Systems back in 2014. Worked for my first company from 2014 to 2019. Then after working for my second company from 2019, I got chased away after 3 years in 2022 and now got chased away by so many companies in 2023 to 2024 in various IT roles. Wish I could quit my IT career and study Accounting but have no money to study again. But I have bought Thai-English language books during my trips in Thailand in 2017, 2018, 2023 so might be a good idea to teach English in Thailand rather having a stressful unemployed poverty life in Fiji in IT.

Before Thailand rejected student-centered learning and Western pedagogy in general, you could go to teach a few classes a day, or even one class, and then you were free to leave and make money teaching business English classes or private students. Those were the days before thumb scans and gate duty. Today, Thai school administrators want the EFL teachers, 90% of whom are Filipinos, to teach EXACTLY like their Thai staff.

I taught English in Bangkok in 1973. Teaching at Bangkok Bank headquarters near Supan Han. I also taught English at NEDA during the same period. Luckily, I had worked oilfield construction in Louisiana in the summers while attending high school. While teaching English, I heard that there was an American company in Bangkok looking for workers for an oilfield construction project in New Guinea. I applied to the company and got a job building pipelines, the job turned out to change my life. I worked 4 weeks in the jungle flying every morning by helicopter into the jungle from our camp to work 12 hours and flown back in the evening. I got a 2 week break at the end of every 4 weeks and flown back to Bangkok. This job lasted 3 years, I was very lucky being the youngest man on the project. All the older men were always giving me advice and teaching me what they knew. By the end of the project I had learned alot about building a pipeline and went on working in Indonesia, the Middle East, Africa, and even Thailand. I always liked Thailand and aways looked for work in Thailand. Again lucky I worked for Chevron based in Sattahip supporting the offshore construction. I even got a job outside the oil industry working as a Construction Manager building the AA paper and pulp mill near Kabinburi that was 27 years ago and where I met my wife a pharmacist working at the hospital in Pranchinburi. I finally moved to Thailand 15 years ago and retired in Rayong.

My father was born in Francavilla so Sicilia and emigrated to Australia when he was 18 in 1962. I spent a month there when I was twenty and was treated like royalty because the people of the town loved my Dad. I have never experienced better food and hospitality. Sicilians live where others starve. It’s also much cheaper there. I visited in May 2022 and 23. Bedda Sicilia! Lovely video. My compliments. (Dad used to sing opera in the shower.)

I only found your videos today (June 23) and watched several of them before i noticed the title of this one. I know tou probably wont see this message butbi felt compelled to say thank you for all the hard work and wonderful and informative content. As someone who has been doing their own channel for a couple of months and is absolutely loving it, i can see how doing your type of videos would be totally exhausting with all the editing and filming required. To build a platform of 6000 subscribers and do for as long as you did, is amazing, genuinely amazing. I shall come over and follow you on insta and in the meantime i shall continue to enjoy the rest of these videos i have to get through. Best wishes and much love ❤️

GREAT ADVICE! Are the people who do workaway primarily 20s-30s.. Or are there older folks too? 40s 50s? I'm a YOUNG 58, single, with a dog. I realize a dog limits. I DO have a vast amount of life experience, as well as 2 degrees, performing artist, etc. I am a Landscape Architect, Surgical Tech, managed garden centers/greenhouses, run backhoes, chainsaws (professionally) - carpenter, roofer, drywall, tile, etc...I've worked as a cowboy..soldier. Like I said. 😉 But damn..I can't video edit. 😅...YET! So I'm looking to sell my house, EVERYTHING! All furniture, vehicles, Harley...100% ! Save only 8-10 boxes in storage. And basically suitcase tour until I find somewhere that I like, and set down for the next 15 years till I croak...lol. Am I fit? Lol..I'll outlift and outwork most of the young people there. Yes. very. At 58, I benchpress 225 lbs. I mountain bike, hike 4,000 foot mountains, do yoga, walk daily...yeah, that. And I look 42-ish. So are there many of "us?" in this age range?

A lot of tourist also bring so much negative impacts and influences to Bali. Many International tourists have thought that they can do whatever in Bali including taking advantage of Bali for their personal interest. Please go back to your home country and we don't need you! We can survive without you. Make Bali clean and peace again!

I've got a 2000 Dodge Ram 3500, too! I dunno if you've solved it yet, but as of your most recently posted vids your back window screen solution was not your fave. I'd be delighted to tell you what I did for screens! :D But my topper isn't as tall as yours; I'm a total 7' height, so I can walk around inside with a bent neck. :/ Not a fan of fiberglass tops. Have you ever had to patch/repair yours? Tragically, I'm facing that challenge now: the Buffalo Christmas Blizzard of 2022 did me some damage, before I had even had much chance to build out what I want. I found such a pristine van with soooo much life left in it, I can't bear the idea of it being totaled and going to waste on account of a half-dozen boo-boos. It was my home, my transportation, my dream for the future, everything--and I'm devastated. But our vans have aged out of the usual parts databases. Where do you find parts to yours? As I search both parts yards and my soul to decide whether to keep putting money into this van or switch to a skoolie or something, I'd be delighted to connect with you. Ram Van Luv & Hugs!

Please make research before travel to Bali or island/beach around southeast asia. It's make you are stupid. It's rainy season/monsoon. All rubbish came from sea. It's is typical view during that season. Around Nov - March, it's hard to see blue colour. Strong wave + dark water colour + rubbish u can see here although that beach actually beautiful. U can see not just in Bali but in Malaysia, Philippines,Thailand

I swam in the beach at Seminyak not far from there as it didn’t have any trash on the sand that I saw. But when I was actually in and swimming, exactly like you, kept getting like plastic bags wrapping around me, was utterly disgusting. Also got an ear infection because I stupidly went underwater. On route to the pharmacy to get anti biotics, the taxi driver then tried to scam me by switching off the meter and charging some ridiculous price. Really pissed me off. Love Bali but this kind of thing is why I’d rather go to Thailand.

Respect. Again, I'm late to getting to your channel, but this was a great journey to see and learn from. I'm hoping my transition into vanlife in pursuit of community connection and learning and saving towards land ownership will be graceful and I too plan to let the time it takes to document and share will enable me to feel as empowered on this platform as I do IRL with the work I do. I appreciate this particular video for your speaking your truth. I, as a performer took a break just like this from stage, modeling and networking with people, to get back to a healthy state of mind. I am just getting back out of my cave to allow for me to step into my best self. With or without followers. So I get it. And choosing yourself is healthy and respectful. I wish you the best.
