Rust, Frame, & DIY Insulation // Van Build--Ep. 03

Van Build Series -- Episode 3
After I finished removing the rubber and wood floors, I cleaned up the rust by grinding it out. I painted the entire floor of the van with rustoleum paint to help prevent more rust from coming around. I used 2x2 blocks of wood as a floor frame to support the plywood flooring going over it. Then, I used XPS foam board Insulation in both the walls and floors. (I chose the pink XPS board due to its cost vs. R-rating ratio.) There are countless ways to convert a van into a livable home, this is just my way. This is a DIY budget van build, so I cut some corners you may not want to cut. Hi deb, it was difficult at first, but once I figured out the right process, it was easy. I had been making it hard on myself by trying to align two cut edges, when I just needed to put the cut edges at the walls and the untouched edges together.
