There’s a KZbinr called ‘E’ who makes genshin videos about fans and shippers and it showed how crazy people are! She is really insightful and fun as well but does more social commentary than character stuff. :) But yeah I bet any hint of any ship puts the view count down because of all the weirdos that just judge everything on that basis! Apparently Zhongli Childe is the biggest ship in fan fiction or somewhere high anyway, it was in one of ‘E’ s videos on genshin ships. My biggest issue with the whole thing is when people say “oh well it’s just a game” is that Genshin takes inspiration FROM REAL LIFE CULTURES. So although yes it may be a game the aesthetics and architectural designers are based on real cultures and people. So when you use someone’s culture without accurately portraying those people it conveys a message of “we like your culture we just don’t like you”. And although not every Aztec or African person is dark skinned , making every single character essentially white is a huge issue. When the only think you have close to dark skin is tan that’s an issue. And the fact that some of the characters that are based on DARK SKIN AFRICAN GODS are literally so pale is a huge problem. Not to mention Xinyan and Kaeya are pretty much the only two “colored” characters as well as cyno if he even counts, and they’re all tan. Colorism is a huge issue in genshin, and it’s not even that hard to make darker skinned characters considering they literally have dark skinned npcs, they just choose not to do it.

I feel like while the newer archon quests are grand and lore-filled, Mondstadt is the perfect starting point. It's long enough to make you feel like you have a sense of accomplishment while finished, has character development, hidden lore, and a simple story anyone can understand that hooks them onto the game.

I think Alhaitham may be a bit too blunt at times which comes off harsh but I almost always agree with his takes in general. It's obvious he doesn't express his feelings in the best way because of how heavily he relies on rationality and logic so that's why his interaction with Kaveh have a lot of nuances and even misunderstandings (especially from Kaveh's pov). In this case, we need to look at his actions more than words - he offered Kaveh to live with him despite valuing personal space and peace the most, he says things that can come off as critique to Kaveh but are genuine advice, he does a lot of things so that Kaveh can except help without feeling guilty (like taking rent but paying for Kaveh's food, wine, decor, etc.), or sublty cheering him like in Kaveh's hangout, his participation in Interdarshan was solely to help Kaveh find some closure about his father's death, etc. Obviously, knowing Kaveh's past, his guilt complex and abandonment issues, he is sensitive and may easily misinterpret or overlook Alhaitham's true motives but, firstly, he's started to understand it more after Parade of Providence, and secondly, he's still the only one Kaveh accepted help from without feeling bad and never tries hard to be "the perfect altruistic self/people pleaser" with him. We also see the development of their relationship in Cyno's 2nd SQ. After a certain time, they seem to communicate better, work together, are more comfy and domestic, Alhaitham is softer/more teasing and Kaveh doesn't react as sensitively. Kaveh, who thought to move out in Parade of Providence, now calls Alhaitham's house his home (and, as we know, his big desire was to find a place he could call home). Also, I never thought of Alhaitham as arrogant. He is very much an individualist who recognizes and even defends the fact that everyone has their own will, motive, goals, views, etc. This is the whole point of his SQ or even his dialogs with Kaveh in Interdarshan event. The only reason he debates with Kaveh is because he thinks of him as equally smart (they both expressed how important it is for great minds to have philosophical debates to keep minds sharp) and because he wants him to take better care of himself. He wouldn't waste his time or effort in disputes with anyone he doesn't care about.

I love that venti is a god that doesn't care whether or not their people believe in him or not, if god created us Isn't he also supposed to love us, as someone with religious trauma i never understood why create rules that "test your faith in him" and those "rules" basically kill off a big part of yourself, all the people currently on earth have never seen god, yet they still believe in him so shouldn't that just be enough faith, plus life already punishes us for just living, venti loves their people no matter what, they don't care that they might hate him or even just not believe in him, they love their people regardless and i think that's what a real god should be like, why created something if you're going to hate it for such a simple thing as wanting to be itself

I must say, I liked the video and you made some excellent points; however, it seems to me that the company behind this game is like a caged bird, only accepting what they have always known. As people of color, especially those from regions where black or fair-skinned individuals are predominant, it is imperative that we strive to make a difference. We should seek opportunities to work with these companies to demonstrate that certain portrayals and exclusions are not reflective of our diverse cultures. I understand that the likelihood of being hired might be slim, even if we possess exceptional skills. Nevertheless, it is essential to voice our opinions on issues that matter to us. The point that genshin cross the line for me is, when they borrow real names of deity in the south but doesn't do the bare minimum of having a somewhat similar skin color to the real lif3 counterpart. Inappropriate dress, Inappropriate color. But they grab the cultures.

I feel like they shouldve stay within their culture (like what wwua did) and not involved other cultures. It was bound to be a mess when they said they were going to represent other cultures especially sumeru and natlan lol. But that's my opinion

Hello Kabayan🇵🇭 Filipino here from the Visayan Region (technically from Cebu) This is pretty much my take on the matter This whole boycott is really shaky and doesn't help the boycott at all honestly. If you still the game and Don't spend anything the company can still recognize that you are playing the gamea and investors will still know that the playerbase is still stacked. Playing the game is a true sign of protest and boycotting. The playerbase despite not spending is still profitable for the company. I already stop playing hoyo games since i lost interest (not because of the issues) I just hope boycotters will realize that this isn't working at all and the CN community is the one controlling the feedbacks of Mihoyo. It's saddening but at the same i have no choice but to accept the consensus that. It's fictional... (Sorry if my English is flawed)

I totally agree with the immersion part I know it's fiction but the fact that they took something out of a certain culture/religion and they don't have anything creative to mix it up but just blatantly take it from 🤣 It's just like you go to a certain region and you see the citizens sre actually like the citizen of this region..and then you meet the 4/5 star characters in the game and they feel like kinda off but it'd tolerable And suddenly you see the Archon and she/he is like asian as possible. Accuracy is not the term, it's "familiarity". Hoyo didn't design the characters and places to represent people and countries in the real world, it's simply to give the players a sense of familiarity and comfort and for that reason they are not in any way obliged to be culturally accurate in their depiction.

I'd like to remind people that this is the same game where you spend the first few hours of the game working along side a femboy Barbados( an ars goetia demon) and our pixie friend in order to save the people from a misunderstood dragon that is being manipulated by the abyss order.
