OMG this is my favorite song in the entire musical and this is probably the best animatic I've ever seen of it. I love it so much. I also mainly just love the idea of Telemachus watching Odysseus kill all of the suitors and being concerned and scared.

There’s waaaaaay too many things I like about this animatic to give anybody a proper list but he’s my top three favorites: 1 - the arrow through that one suitors EYE?? 2 - Ody stabbing the same guy repeatedly with the arrow?? I imagined it as him firing multiple in rapid succession but that had my jaw on the ground 3 - the complete and utter nonchalance of that *eye roll* “no” *stabs the guy behind him*

after listening to Odysseus for like, 200 times now, the Odysseus motif is played almost constantly throughout the song. The motif is constantly played on triplets too, representing ruthlessness. The only time the motif isnt played is after Eurymachus’ verse and before Telemachus’ verse.

I think this is my favorite version i've seen animated. It shows Ody is at his limit and likely is going a little insane after everything he's been through to get home, and to return to the suitors would be a the final straw. I also really liked how when the one suitor is singing about peace how there's someone trying to sneak up on him so instead of it being a genuine plea for peace its actually a ploy to get him to let his guard down unlike how a lot of other depictions of the song were animated and how Telemachus is a little horrified by the sight of his father because realistically he should be after seeing what Ody is doing to these people. Overall I think this feels more gruesome and gritty than how other animations for this song have done it and I really like that.

Odysseus disappearing into the darkness and inviting the suitors to the most dangerous game of tag. and the heavier elements of the music itself hitting in exactly at that moment man i am in love this feels like a super fatal halloween maze!!!!

I fucking adore the trope of using the enemies strength against him. Odys wit is by far his sharpest blade and seeing him put that to work in a boss battle type fight is great holy shit.
