I’m curious if you had any more thoughts about the music video. She wears the jeweled mask and I wonder if the chemtrails can also signify that there’s this gorgeous scene around her and outside of that there’s disease (COVID), tornadoes (as seen in the music video), wolves…the people aren’t as they seem - But she just wants to be happy with her love.

2:12 I think you don't necessarily have to feel "dead / far from life / isolated" to want to be around people who are "alive".

I feel like she chose someone in a downward spiral, like a married man who is down and unhappy with his life. And betting on losing dogs is a metaphor for feeling empathy for the emotionally dying people. As an empath, sometimes when I feel triumphant or finally happy, I tend to mess things up just so I dont feel guilty. Dying with the person you love is bittersweet.

Thanks for your analysis❤ Taylor's lyrics are just amazing! In this song, I think the repetition of "when you are young they assume you know nothing" and her stating at the end "I knew everything when I was young" and the many "I knew..." are all important elements. A song about and celebrating young love and very intense feelings = "knowing everything" (as opposed to "nothing"), what's really important in life, which maybe we forget or don't really feel the same way, when we get older. It's really "they" who know nothing❤

In verse 3, I think of balckening as how it is typically talked about in English Literature. In books, the more you blacken a page (write notes, underline), the more it is considered that book meant a lot to you. Blacken in this sense means to write. I don't think of it as any more metaphorical, though I could be wrong

Hiya! For coasting I just wanted to add as a perspective. I find that your commentary to it is accurate but my first thoughts about it were: ok, when you push only as much as you need to keep doing the same speed on a skateboard, it seems very low effort and like you aren't making progress or contributing anything. So my immediate opinion was that yeah we roll with it whatever as opposed to oh yeah it's all smooth sailin' from here. But like I said, I think what you said makes a lot more sense in the song's context. Thanks for making this video! I can't believe I was able to focus for almost an entire hour.

I like to think this song is about augustine cuz she knew james was never hers but she always hoped james would whole heartdly love him like she is and she is so in love with him that all she cares about is his love, his attention (not negatively). Also this a teen story so I like to think she really is affectionate about james but this is raw and fresh love thing also the time u usually become or might become reckless I want u to know I am not that good in literature so feel free to correct me or add ur thoughts to it

This seems to be part of the true summer love 💘 triangle with Invisible String, Mirrorball, and Hoax. In this one Hoax's narrator does not believe Mirrorball loves him, as Mirrorball is a living robot ⚕🤖. Thus is confused as to why Mirrorball is being so affection to him. Way beyond his unusual motive of infiltration. It is more awkward and frustrating than sad. Hoax's narrator explains how he became psychic. Mirrorball eventually explains he loves Hoax's narrator as he sees Mirrorball's true nature as a living robot. They get together at the end. They confess their true love 💗 together. They sing about the pain of ego death caused by true love together, because they are so in sync.

Have you considered the parallells with “You’re losing me”? For example: 1. “my heart won’t start anymore” -> “I stopped CPR, after all it’s no use” 2. “How long can we be a sad song?” -> “how much sad did you think I had in me” 3. "My face was gray" -> "and I'm just getting color back into my face" 4. “I loved this place” -> “remember looking at this room, we loved it cause of the light” Also, to me, the intro song almost sounds like Big Ben? And the rest of the song sounds like she’s riding (on a motorcycle in a helmet) through a long tunnel and as she passes the tunnel lights, they create this pulsating rhythm

I think it is about her getting into relationships that always cheat on her? Or hurt her or are toxic in some way and she knows they will hurt her in the end but she can’t help on 'betting on losing dogs' because she just wants someone to love her

This is about a crazy 🤪 lady who commits suicide out of spite when her husband breaks up with her. Then haunts him as a literal ghost. The husband is incredibly spineless, so immediately doubts himself rather than move on with his life. I find the song funny. It is over the top and both lovers are terrible people, so you don't feel bad for them. =================== This is likely a reference to the idea that paradigm-shifting information gained from psychic transmission cannot enter human consciousness: "And when you can't sleep at night (you hear my stolen lullabies)" Thus, she needs to have the information she wants him to know be hidden information. Which can be inferred but is not explicitly mentioned. Kinda like how she is a crazy 🤪 lady who commits suicide out of spite when her husband breaks up with her is hidden information in My Tears Ricochet. Inferable, but not explicitly mentioned. Taylor has the unusual (but not exclusive) ability to go into a trance-like state where her Unconscious does most of the writing ✍. The narrator is not gifted at this, so she needs to steal the work of others, rather than invent her own messages with hidden information. Presumably her spirit body for her ghost form disintegrates eventually and she is dragged into the arche-dream. Or has her soul claimed by the source of the Evermore for their nefarious intentions, using their ivy-like grip on her, as she presumably has no redeeming qualities.
