Bless him, after such a cold and horrible early family life, he found a way to make EVERYONE love him.

I used to see & say hello to Norman regularly at St James's Park in Newcastle watching NUFC with his great friend from his army days. One of my childhood hero's & a wonderful man ❤🖤🤍

I don’t think Norman will be forgotten per se, I just the world will run out of people who now how to laugh at the human condition without taking offence. He came to the world when it needed him in it. As ever perfect timing

I have very pleasant memories of Norman, having watched him on the TV in B&W, his extraordinary range emotionally (which seems rarely mentioned) was what had my attention. His humour was infectious. His circumstances, of enforced poverty, where the poor paid all the tax, and the toffs paid none and ran the place. Maybe it was the toffs who ruined his childhood, just as it did to so many world-wide?

Norman wisdom absolutely the greatest funniest man has ever been even Charlie Chaplin said that and you cannot argue with that I can not see why they have not put a bronze statue of Norman Wisdom in London to honour him . also I think all the British public who loves Norman Wisdom should get a petition for him to put a statue of him in London so people can go and see it R I P The great Norman wisdom ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I watched the documentary it was filmed just months before he passed away. It was more upsetting to watch because of the way his two children were so cruel to him & about him, it made for shocking viewing! The only person who showed him any kindness & understanding was his daughter-in-law!

I was given my middle name… Norman… by my grandparents because they loved him. My parents were in India when I was born and they sought my grandparents’ advice on a middle name, because they had lost touch with what was current in England.

Very very cold hearted people. Imagine not wanting to be recognised as Norman Wisdoms Daughter. Or son. Bet they had no bother taking Normans money.

His son and daughter were a disgrace. I guess they just took the money and ran. A pair of ungrateful, uncaring, spoilt and greedy individuals.

I met him in Monmouth years back, when I was a beat copper, I think it would have been in the 90s. He was visiting with his companion, and while she was looking at bathroom stuff we fell into conversation. We spoke about his films and careea. I asked him why he didn't do more in the US as I really liked the film The Night they Raided Minsky 's, it was a straight role and he'd been brilliant in it - he'd worked with some of the bigest names in films at the time. I was quite amazed at his candour as to why he centered his life back here. He asked me what was my favourite act and I said to be honest that I prefered his singing, where upon he sang to me a couple of his songs, quite unabashed. Afterwards we chatted for a while about my time at sea, until his companion had finished browsing when we shook hands and said good bye. A very genuine man. It's a wonderful memory which I keep with me.

It’s funny reading the comments here, everyone seems to be talking about Norman Wisdom as the character on screen. This I think is a very insightful documentary on caring for the elderly, especially when you are the child of that person. You can see in the eyes of the family that nobody really wants to take care of him full-time because it can be soul destroying to watch someone you lovestart to, deteriorate in front of you especially when you have a family of your own. I’m not sure it was a good idea to have the cameras here. I would be very uncomfortable if it was me but I think it’s very interesting to see the comments here about people saying they would’ve taken care of him themselves? I don’t think you would to be honest maybe for a week maybe for two but I doubt you could do what these guys have done for their own father.

An amazing man who could make us all laugh or cry in equal measure… Getting old sucks, and dementia is just life’s last cruel joke.. I’m 53 and was brought up watching Normans films.. Square Peg being my favourite As a man who loves cars and currently owns 7 1990’s Sportbikes…..I’d also be upset hearing they’d been sold RIP Norman

A testament to the acting and directing…the idea of Vera returning to take Jack to paradise…a fantasy sequence…could have been cheesy But this was so well done it didn’t feel jarring at all ❤
