I find it too soft at anything above 500mm widest, even stopping down to f/8 doesn't help, and OS at long end is too bad.

Think of getting the 750d or the 250d its will be my first dlsr is it worth the extra money for the 250d or should i get the 750d and get a better lens?
@beckybokeh15 күн бұрын
To my knowledge the main difference between the 2 is that the 250D shoots 4K video, so if you are going to shoot a lot of video this may be something to consider. However arguably the lens is often more important than the camera so if you can get a more premium lens this will really help improve your images as opposed to a kit lens … and I will always recommend the 750D, I think it’s great :) what kind of stuff are you planning on shooting? Videos, portrait, vlogs, landscapes … ?

@@beckybokeh it will just be portraits and landscapes and street photography to be honest I'm not really bothered about video

@@beckybokeh Same as the X100V. I got mine for 900, a few months later they were £1500-1700. Unlike the G7X, the x100v is an absolutely fantastic sensor so it's worth the price I think. 10 bit in the new one with nice ibis etc.

Hi Becky, nice video. This is probably a stupid question (I'm new to all this changing lenses business)... I'm looking to get the L-mount version of this for my S5II. When it's connected can you still use the zoom & focus on the actual camera or do you physically/manually have to change it yourself using the actual lens? 🤔 Thanks!
@beckybokeh15 күн бұрын
Hi there, when I’m using the lens on my 750D I have to manually turn the zoom and focus rings on the lens as there’s no options to do these on the camera :)

@@beckybokeh Thanks for the quick reply. I'll see what Wex say. I've come from the murky world of superzoom bridge cameras so this pro lark all seems a bit of a faff, although it's probably not too big of a deal tbf! 😆 Just given your IG a follow, some amazing shots on there! 👍

@@beckybokeh Ok, I have just realised it was indeed a stupid question as the S5II doesn't have a zoom lever thing - I thought it did but I was getting it confused with my FZ2000. Either way I'm still hoping to get the lens! Thanks again

I was thinking it would be more worth it. I have a Canon R10 and I want a telephoto lens for animals. I automatically thought of the RF 100-400mm. Native and with high focusing speed in addition to the low price (in my case 600 euros). On the other hand, there is the option of the sigma 150-600 contemporary, with a higher price (800 euros) + adapter (70-100 euros). What do you think is more worth it, losing those important mm in bird photography or the focusing speed in addition to perhaps other problems you have for not being Native?
@beckybokeh16 күн бұрын
In my opinion focus speed is more important than the mm, but those are both great lenses and will teach you a lot about bird photography :)

As this lens aims to capture a market share of the 600mm telephoto range for about 3% of the cost of the most modern top end equivalent, many photographers and indeed videographers will be wondering about it's image quality at 600mm. I video surfing and actually need narrower apertures like f8/9 and a tripod so bokeh and OS aren't of any interest or real necessity. On the beach in Australia, light is no problem as you can imagine! So what's the lenses image quality truly doing at 600mm?
@beckybokeh2 ай бұрын
In my experience at 600mm with good light this lens is amazing for the price! On my Instagram @beckybokeh you can see my images and in the description I add what focal length I took them at, so you can see some 600mm examples there

Hi! Just watched your video and had to subscribe - you take beautiful photos and videos :) I bought a Lumix S5II a couple of months ago to dive back into my hobby photography and currently have my kit lens which is 20-60mm (full frame). I love to take photos in dawn and moody scenes as well as macro (e.g. little mushrooms, leaves in the rain etc) and am considering this lens (or the 60-600mm version) so that I have more flexibility. I have a feeling that I might take more photos when I can zoom in more, as I love to capture the stars, the moon, birds a distance away etc. Do you have any tips for how to focus a camera to take star photos? I tried the method with lighting a torch to focus, then move the camera to capture the stars before the focus is off again but they turn out blurry every time... I did 2 years of photography with a Canon 1100D in high school a few years ago so slowly getting back into it. Any thoughts or tips welcome! Thanks :)

Thank you so much I really appreciate the kind feedback! :) when I photograph things like birds and planets, I have my lens at 600mm, I use a sturdy tripod that can support the weight of the big heavy lens, and use the magnify setting on my camera to get as close as I can to the subject, then I manually focus from there :)

Great video. Likewise had the camera a while since 2016, got it for my 18th birthday and my dad got a 750D a few months earlier using some gift voucher he got for being at his job for 25 years or something and then I wanted my own. I've always sort of gravitated to being the photographer / videographer in the family, recording us singing happy birthday each year and things like that so I guess that's where my own photography story starts, don't know about yourself. I've just got a RX100 VII so that I can maybe shoot some concerts from the crowd and build a little portfolio to use either in videos or a blog site and then maybe I'll get noticed to take part in the photo pit etc for shows I would otherwise miss
